how is multiplayer running? Haven't tried it myself, but Arturo is already saying that playing PC online feels noticeably better than xbox online.
Actually just hearing him talk about it is making me consider buying it for PC even though I already have it for xbox.

Played a couple games today before going into work I had green matchs with everyone and there was zero sense of any lag. When I found the matchs in custom game it said they were yellow (one bar below green) when I went into the game menu it showed up as green and was like 100% lag less I personally think its better for online then PS3, I can't comment on xbox since I don't have but I kno its smoother then PS3

I'm far from a super precise player but it seems pretty good to me so long as both players have A-grade computers. Last night I played two Cs and one guy with E (wtf) and those were the only noticeably laggy games for me. Not sure what the grades correspond to in terms of hardware.

The grades correspond to the benchmarking marks they have, if you're able to run the game at a steady 60fps then you'll get an A rating, even if you're on the lowest settings to get that. People running on lower then A probably need to lower their graphic settings and or just upgrade their computer if they're already on the lowest.
Edit: Also if you change in the options menu for Fixed framerate it should help you when you're playing against people with slower computers or not able to run 60fps All the other options just cause frame skipping and other random lag like that.

Yeah I had read about the fixed setting and set that right away. Pretty bad that it isn't the default. Even with that, I found playing vs people with the lower grades to be a noticeably degraded experience.

Anyone having issues with their stick working, I found why I couldn't get my Hori RAP3 (Real Arcade Pro 3) to work. You have to change your stick setting from DPad to Left Stick Its as simply as changing your switch from DP to LS. For some reason the game doesn't detect Dpad as a legit input option for sticks and possibly why some peoples controller's weren't working as well.
Edit: anyone got some good information for Oni I plan on trying to get good with him since I think he's an overlooked character in the more competitive scene.
Also anyone know a good location to learn about option selects? I understand the general idea behind them but I don't know how to do them, nor how to know what is possible to option select.
Is that some HRAP3 specific setting, or can you do it with any stick? Because my old Mayflash doesn't seem to work with it

Its something that should be directly upon the stick its self so you can change the joystick to be detected as a DPad(DP) or a Left Analog Stick (LS) or Right Analog Stick (RS) Its a simple little toggle switch that are on most higher priced sticks, like the TE sticks and some higher end Hori sticks.

Oh good. I came here to check if other people are as fucked as I am. I got up to 27.5% before they just removed it..

How did they manage to fuck this up, aren't preloads usually encrypted?

Just started playing online on PSN, I played for fun with roomate a lot but we're both terrible. Any akuma tips? Some BnBs I should go and practice? How to find ppl who are my skill level and not all C/C+ where I am legitimately a D?

The letter rank is based on your BP which is character-specific and mostly correlates (until you get to B rank) to how much you've played a character. When you search for Same Skill it searches by PP which is player-specific and is generally accepted as your approximate skill level.
It's kind of similar to points versus MMR in SC2. Just because you're matched against someone has 1300 points and you have 50, that doesn't matter because your MMR is the same.

This is better than anything I can say about Akuma. I think the only thing that doesn't really apply anymore is the loop.

It does tell you how proficient they are with a certain character though. I would be more afraid of a Hakan that is A rank vs a D rank yun, even if PP's are the same

shits so dumb Soon you'll be a B level gief like me
It's just frustrating when people say Yun is a mashfest and then you hop on gief. hold down back and hit roundhouse once in a while to get closer, if they throw fireballs greenhand in to get closer, if they jump, lariat. and once you get JUST out of poke range you're already in light SPD range.

Yeah that's why I said until B rank, because once you reach 5000 BP you start getting punished a lot more in BP for losses. I've never reached A rank but I imagine it's even more punishing than B rank, meaning you have to maintain a higher and higher win ratio against most opponents in order to keep climbing in BP. In D rank you lose no BP ever, in C you lose only a little compared to what you win, in B it's about even.

ok so offline my game plays fine (60 fps consistantly) but the benchmark gives me a c? Is my internet that bad or is it something else?
|
Too bad this game is unplayable right now for at least 50% of the people who got it.
Keyboard and stick issues are plaguing every page on forums. Too bad, I'm so eager to play it. I can manage to, but joy2key will give some bad input lag

I hate this thread only cause it was called something to do with Samus at one point and as a diehard metroid fan I clicked through excitedly only to be met with discussions of muscular men playing footsies with eachother for 99 second intervals.

Well, without matchup knowledge a lot of characters could be considered cheap. That light spd range caught me so off-guard :O
|
I've played a little bit of SF4, never played SSF4 and jumped o AE on PC. I'm getting bodied by everyone. Like 80-85% loses. Honestly I'm not having fun =/ I think I'll stick to offline.
