I wasn't aware she could whiff cancel that move now, it's a pretty good trick for a character that already had a ton of gimmicks you need to look for.

BP is mostly just a gauge of how often you play a character in Ranked. PP is the actual Elo/skill rating, and that's what the matchmaker uses to find opponents. True, but after a while once things iron out, the #3 Ibuki will also (typically, probably) have more than 1000 PP lol. The "#X [char]" doesn't mean much for the first ~week when BP is barely going down with losses

It also can be used for a red focus combo (her only decent one I've found(hopefully she doesn't have a really easy and good one or I'll feel bad :D ) and useful for footsies because you can Tsmujji and poke well. When pressuring in the corner it is a real bitch for the person in it because you can easily just do a corner combo. What do you guys think of Ibuki's footsies? I'm convinced they're better than most and only lag a little when it comes to certain fireball characters. My experience is limited to primarily a few characters though because I mostly play with friends.

Before Ultra came out me and my friends (not really casuals, but still rather bad at the game, I guess) were able to frequently win matches against decent or even more skilled opponents and had a PP range of roughly 1500-2000 (SSFIV:AE) playing a pretty wide range of characters (I'm playing Ryu, Elfuerte and Makoto). Now that USFIV is out (netcode performance aside lol) I feel like I haven't been playing this game for the last year at all... I think until now I really didn't know a game could be SO frustrating with really close to 0 bad people like our group. From time to time you manage to maybe take 1 round off a top 20-50 guy (while he most likely let that happen on purpose), but scoring wins is almost impossible. Even trying to limit the possible opponents to those of "similar skill" results in getting paired with #3 Ibuki etc. On consoles, however, this doesn't seem to be the case, my friend got the game on PS3 and told me he has a very smooth online experience being matched up with players of truly similar skill level. Why is PC so much much MUCH harder than console right now?! Winning maybe 1 out of 20-30 matches just to get your ass handed to you in complete dominant fashion in the next plethora of matches is highly demotivating and (paired with the WORST online experience ever in a game) just makes me want to quit this shit already and start focussing on SC2 again ^^. No, really, I love Street Fighter, but it really triggers my anger more than any other game right now... Just goes to show how much more hardcore gamers on PC are. Besides that though, the game is older. As the game gets older there are less noobs playing, and the percentage of decent to great players goes up, at the same time new players are discouraged even more to play because they are trying to join into a scene with no equal skilled players and they get sick of being owned. Same thing happened with SC2 about 2 years ago, which coupled with the weird points deteriorating thing and people also dropping ranks etc it was discouraging to not be advancing in skill or barely advancing. I'm pretty decent at 3rd strike, and I played a bit of Vanilla SF4. So I'm not a complete noob, but there are times (usually at night/off peak) where I play only good players and drop like 500-600 PP easily. Honestly don't care about the PP though, just wanna see my T.Hawk rank go up. If I could just get 720s more consistently, I think I could take a lot more rounds though too. That damage is ridic.

My advice is focus yourself on improving your anti air game with crMK, stMP and stMK and your spacing by moving with fMP, fLK and walking and reducing the amount of dashes.

Not that I've seen! Good matches. Though I can imagine if you've played him many times then you're understandably remembering the rough parts ;D

Can anyone offer any tips/advice?

The closest thing I've ever played to a fighting game before now was Smash Bros. I must admit, I'm pretty shocked at how utterly abysmal I am. I knew I'd suck, but I didn't think it was possible to go 1-50 (literally) in anything on Earth. That being said I'm strangely having a good time... I think it's because this game is so damned pretty.
