Arcade Edition is runing on Japan for some time now. I do not have the insights to explain the why (I've not played any fighting games except MvC3 for some time now), but every top japanese player agrees that Fei Long, Yun and Yang are ahead at the rest of the cast.

This is the tier lists by some of the most renowed players in the world. These lists are the most respected and used by the Shoryuken community.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/jan/30/complete-ssf4-arcade-edition-tiers-daigo-mago-tokido/

And Seth won the SS, ok (the players was poonkgo?) Not because he is the strongest, but because the player did better in strategy, gameplay, execution and mindgames.

Stop reposting stuff we already know. That "tier list" from mago/daigo/tokido was made in January, even back then they were clueless considering they put Fei ahead of Yun, and Zangief is like, 10th.

Its obvious those three are on the top but whats the point in coming into a thread 40 pages in and saying something thats been talked about since the first page. Provide something unique or HOLD DAT.

Relax, someone asked a couple of posts back. Saying "The twins and Fei" is the same thing as going "Read the thread".

Ken is pretty good. Easy links/combos for good damage and decent zoning game. He's what you would call "solid". The problem is he's a shoto and people have that matchup pretty much figured out so you gotta be pretty exceptional if you want to be really good. Also I don't care what anyone says shoryukens are broken. Eating a srk because I missed a jab-jab link with Vega sucks balls.

On another note: Recently I've been giving up on my main Vega. I am a pretty aggressive player and I was pretty excited about the new pressure Vega got with RCF but I'm getting tired of having to work so hard for wins so I decided to move to a character more suited to my style and picked up Cammy. So here's my question: What's her overhead? Divekicks? That's so weak :s

I'm having problems with good players just sitting there like a rock and just reacting. If I jump I eat an anti-air and if I do a hooligan throw I eat a reversal. Seems like my only option is to tick-throw them but I don't have any sort of vortex or heavy cross-up game to keep things going. Any tips on how to crack defensive players with her? Much appreciated.

I think Akuma might be there with Fei Long and Yang, or not far off. He's just not easy to play, there are no great US Akuma players, and he is relatively unchanged (what changes does he have, actually?), so people don't think about him as much.

I think Akuma and Ken are definitely the two best shotos. I think Oni has some pretty sick potential though to move up the tier list, he's just not very explored.

+ Show Spoiler [ Akuma Changes] +
Special Moves

• Medium Punch Shoryuken's invincibility was lengthened, now he is completely invincible for the first 5 frames.

• Air Hurricane Kick's jump arc was changed, so running away with it is impossible.

• EX Hurricane Kick damage and stun were reduced.

Ultra 2

• His Ultra 2, when Canceled during teleport only, has bigger hitbox downwards. Standing Hard Punch, Teleport into Ultra 2, is possible now.

Other stuff

• During back dash, airborne frame comes immediately after invincibility frames end.

Overall

• Considering balance, the runaway tactic with his Air Hurricane Kick was removed, but other things can be done as you currently can, so you will be able to apply your skill in SSF4 to SSF4 AE as well.

Fairly unchanged overall, and now that you mention it I'm trying to think of the top Akumas in the US. Only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the ones in new york, and I can't even remember their exact names. There are some good ones but nobody really that great at Akuma. But then you see other countries with like Toxy in Australia, Xian in SG (before he switched to Yun) and then Infiltration from Korea, and of course Tokido.

Edit: Autodemon, thats his name, is the first one in my mind but he's not even like, super godlike, he's just really solid.

Double Edit: Shady K, and Ed Ma before he switched to Juri, and Hsien Chang before he switched to Yun.

Been practicing Ken. Kara Shoryuken / Focus is just too fun. Ken is sick gooddddd. Just wish you could cancel his Shoryuken later (like on reaction with Akuma).

I l ike playing with Ken's kara throw option lol, its fun. I still can't get Yun's kara palms down, even though its a compeltely useless thing, I think it'd be fun to juggle 10 palms once in a while out of boredom.

I'm trying out T. Hawk now. I find him to be a lot like zangief with a shoryuken instead of a lariat. The U1's do almost the same damage, although gief's throws do have slightly more range and power. Also, condor dive allows me to break in easily when compared to using green glove. Only thing lacking is that T. Hawk has no stepin kick.

The tier list can go fuck itself, especially when a noob T. Hawk (read: 200bp) is beating B level Yuns

Edit: how I use T. Hawk is similar to the good ol' blanka l.ball->throw. Imagine blanka doing an spd instead of a normal throw. That's what T. Hawk is.

Well, considering Vega's jabs are 1-frame links I don't find that too surprising. I know exactly how you feel though. Online DP seems so much more powerful than when I'm playing people offline. Maybe because I can hear them mashing offline lol

Overheads aren't really something to be afraid of in this game, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Cammy in AE seems like you're going to have to rely on lots of tick-throws and frame traps. All her normals got buffed a lot, so she probably has a lot of good frame trap setups now as opposed to just spamming tkcs.

2 hits is still pretty beast yo (akuma has it too nice)

i could of swore far s.MP was special cancelable too. oh well, its still a ridiculously good poke to throw out when your dancing back and fourth to bait a kara throwtech/smack em out of footsies range into sweep (thank you AE for these ken changes btw)

need to get back in AE too much ah3/ggpo

Akuma gets more leniency since he is so damn squishy

Ken is good because he wasn't nerfed His Kara throws have always been good though

Good attitude, I feel like Thawk is similar to Sentinel in that its really easy to just block him and backdash out of his command throws..

Yeah T Hawk is easy to punish given his god awful recovery times, but that's no dif than green glove/lariat. The trick is to do it like the blanka ball: do a light condor dive and bait the opponent into blocking, while you land in front of him and follow up with grab. Plus he can still do a meaty crossup body slam like gief->c.lk->shoryuken, kinda like giefs body slam->c.lk->lariat, mixup w/ command throws/ultra

Just beat the top-ranked BP Ibuki in NA in a close game.

The Replay Channel feature is pretty cool and I've featured some replays on my channel (heh). However, I had done this before about a week ago and now when I went back to my channel I had zero replays selected. Does it not keep your channel active when you're not online? That would be pretty retarded...

Who is the top ranked BP ibuki? Almost everyone at the top rank are boosters that never actually play lol, unless you beat like, Clakey D or some shit in which case that'd be epic as hell.

I dunno it was some guy named SoleChris who only had 2900 PP and 13000 BP. 2900 is pretty high but it's not tournament player high, I'd expect Clakey D to have minimum 4k or 4.5k. I got bodied by Latif yesterday and he had like 5500 PP.

Yeah, wow 13k bp is nuts. I know Xian (SG yun) has like 9.7k BP and ~4k PP, and Kazunoko was around 4.5k PP. Theres no way thats Clakey but 13k is no joke outside of boosting lol.

Latif is godlike, I wonder how high like, Latif, Krone, and BananaKen's BP is by now since those three guys were dominating super.
