Okay I got it almost 80% on the twins but I can't make that shit connect on shotos. What is this.
I tried it out on Ryu, and I don't think it works. You can, however, do cl.mk xx lk tatsu, cl.hp xx lk tatsu, s.lk xx whatever and you only lose about 30 damage. You can also do the combo you were talking about off a deep jump-in hp, so maybe just do that post-stun? Although, I think lk tatsu, cl.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, s.lk xx whatever will do more damage post-stun.

I read an interview on shoryuken.com and this player name "Laugh" has his own business which is called etokki.com
I looked through it and I found this reasonably cheap stick. Does anyone have any idea how the specs are cause I'm completely clueless http://www.etokki.com/Joytron Paewang Revolution arcade stick

Oh wow I didn't know Laugh owned that site lol neat. Pretty cool that the sticks come dual modded. Really small box, and it looks like they have faux-sanwa parts so its pretty much a dual modded SE by the looks of it. But if you buy your own Sanwa JLF and OBSF 30's you could have a dual modded, TE quality stick forl ike 85 bucks and shipping, pretty nice.

Please pardon my ignorance, but from what I googled. Sanwa JLF is the stick and OBSF 30's is the buttons right?
What you're implying is that after I buy the arcade stick, I replace them with these parts?

Yes, dazer, that is correct. Some shop links: http://akihabarashop.jp/ http://www.lizardlick.com/
Also, Zlasher, your points are all valid concerning octogate. I did like it when I used it as well. Main reason for me to go back to square gate is because I was using a lot of charge characters. For charge characters it is nice to have that security of having down back and not only down charging.
My final advice concerning sticks: Just save up for a TE stick, you won't regret it!!! It's sturdy, feels solid, all parts are good and could be easily modded might you ever need it. Having to mod the whole stick as your first stick can be quite scary, if you have no experience soldering. Took me 5 hours to solder the CHIMP into my TE!
Also, SF4Volt on the iPhone/iPod is ASS. Every time I beat someone, they disconnect! It's full of online tactics as well.
Can't wait for Evo! This weekend is pretty slow, no big tourneys going down, right?
Complexity signed Filipino Champ and Combofiend. Their team is shaping up nicely. Maybe try and get Clockw0rk on there and they have a pretty solid AE/Marvel line-up :D

Yes, the stock parts for that Paewang are decent/okay, but you should really get to replacing them with Sanwa OBSF, or the Korean buttons that he sells on eTokki. There are a few guides showing how to swap the parts on SRK Tech Talk. Note: if you want to replace the buttons with the Sanwa OBSF buttons you need to sand down the holes to accommodate them because the holes on the case are for 28mm, which are suited fine for Korean buttons but not Japanese ones, which are 30mm. OBSF ones, the snap in buttons, will fit cleanly if you manage to sand down the holes. If you choose to get Sanwa OBSN-30 or Seimitsus' it will be a tad more difficult due to the nature of the buttons requiring a nut to hold them in place. I have never tried this method, but from SRK, you can sand down the nuts to have them fit snugly in the case.
tl;dr Stock parts are fine but after a while, they tend to become unresponsive/require heavy mashing, best to replace with Sanwa JLF and OBSF-30 asap if you plan to play for a long time.
Edit: In the end, the preference of the stick will depend on the layout of the buttons and the case size as most sticks will be using Japanese buttons.
I myself have this stick with a JLF and OBSFs and also a HRAP3SA with a Paewang PCB.

They use Korean parts, which includes 28mm buttons (i.e. OBSF 30, etc. won't fit without modification). I'm not sure about the stick mount either. Some people get Paewang PCBs by themselves, because they're I think the only retail PCBs to support both consoles. Keep in mind shipping costs.

Yeah 100% i agree, if you play charge, go with square If you play other characters, squares probably the best bet but I'm just fine with my octo for now ;P
Clockwork would be a terrible pickup lol, CW was a second tier MvC2 player and is a second tier MvC3 player. I'd pick FChamp and combofiend over cw in Marvel 3 any day of the week. If they go after anyone else, Wolfkrone would be the obvious pick but if they're sticking to their little socal group, Floe or ClakeyD would probably be the next in line, but right now the teams pretty sick as is.
Seems like modding that korean stick is too much effort actually haha, just save up for a TE and buy one for ~120 bucks on ebay in new condition or something, it's absolutely worth it. I didn't know they defaulted at 28mm, that definitely is a pin in the ass imo.

i can vouch for Laugh
i've done business with him a few times over the past few years
my name on srk is zac and ive been a member since 2003, in case anyone thinks im blowin smoke

It's really easy to mod the button holes to fit OBSF-30s. The only thing I would consider a pain is the fact that you have to solder which is really easy but annoying since you gotta get out all these extra tools.
|
Isn't Laugh the guy who was the only reliable way to get those inpin adapters for years? Good to see he's got a decent business going.
I wouldn't bother ordering a Korean stick unless you're actually from Korea though. Shipping would probably kill that deal, and having a TE means not only is it ezpz to mod, everyone knows how to do it. Also, you can share sticks with people np since those are so standard.

SF4 Arcade is coming to steam! excited ^^
|
yeah the madcatz te's are awesome to mod since everythign is snapped in or plugged in, you dont' have to pull out any power tools or what not.
I don't think anyones doubting Laugh's credibility, the dude is a godlike player as well. And I dunno shipping costs from that site but akihabarashop.jp is a japanese shop and shipping is like 700 yen for buttons so its not always that bad.
|
who do you guys think are the best charge chars in AE?
|
balrog/boxer
hes basically the same with a more unsafe headbutt on block/whiff.
i dunno why they nerfed a lot of the shit they did. blanka, honda, etc didnt deserve the bat
|
Balrogs still good, Bisons still good, Honda's still good. Charge characters were pretty much on the top of all tier lists in Super just chillin and holding down back. The nerfs were fine.
|
ya they're still able to compete, but the nerfs they got weren't justified when you got yun running around doing geneijin after ultra
honda lost good antiair lp headbutt, his grab ultra is 2f startup now, bison ultra2 is charge motion now
not that bad, but i dont see where it was needed
|
Because you're thinking of the nerfs relative to two new characters that have yet to be figured out completely.
Remove the twins from your head for a brief period of time, and realize hwo much more balanced this game is than Super was.
Yes, the twins are strong but don't use that as a basis of, well they shouldn't ahve nerfed them because of the twins.
|
Hesitant on buying ssf4:ae for pc since I cannot find a usb compatible fight pad :/ I might just ask one of my brothers if he minds if I play mvc3 on his ps3 that he doesn't use >>.

ya minus the twins the game is more balanced
but include twins and months of japanese bp rankings where the top 5 was like 4 twins and fei, capcom should know whats up
u can't do things like nerf most projectile characters and all these aa's while putting that 3s divekick bullshit back into the game. 3s had parry. this game was dumbed down from its inception in order to breathe life back into the fighting game world (which i didn't mind so much because the more the merrier as long as the game system works out) but with ae they made poor decisions.
even that man daigo knows whats up.
they know they fucked up. sc2 is blessed to have blizzard testing via ptr and patching when needed.
fighting games need to have a system like that in order to fully evolve. i got nothing but love for capcom, and i will still enter tournaments and travel after all this bitching, but they gotta step it up. mvc3 and ae are not good signs for the future.
im also up for games on ps3 or pc when it comes out.
