Your best bet is to test one out before buying one, but if you buy it, make sure it has a return policy just in case.
The 360 sticks will work, so just keep that in mind..

It depends on the mainboard chipset. The usb-controller needs to support UHCI mode (which afaik only intel and via have). /€: have i been trolled? :o

You're going to need to add in a bunch of PCB's for that though (that's why it's easiest to get a 360 one, since the 360 PCB is there (they are encoded)). Paewang PCB seems pretty clean to get 360/PS3/PC going. Namco stick is pretty nice, but I prefer Sanwa parts myself. I don't know how much you're playing on the PS2 still, but I'd say it's a bit of a shame to gut such a nice stick. Maybe check the TE with a friend, see if you like it. Usually, at the big tournaments, they run promo codes on the stream to get one for a bit cheaper. Another thing to take note of is that the Marvel sticks DO have another layout. If you feel that the TE is a bit too expensive, you can always build your own stick (it'll take some work and plenty of time). I did that for the PS2 and was really happy with my results: ![]() Basically, what I did is make the walls to the box, add inner walls, a bit lower, put aluminum plate in there (screw that down in the corners), put my artwork on top of that, put the plexiglass on top of that and use screw buttons to hold everything in place (so you get a nice screwless top plate :D ) Side buttons were bezeled into the side panel. Here is a good example of something similar This one's reinforced with an extra wood panel, which is pretty smart. I hit my PS2 stick in rage and cracked the plexi a bit, dented the alu a bit, lol. Here is a nice walkthrough of the stick building process

My stick feels so gosu after adding those babies in My current stick is a TE stick, already has Sanwa everything in it. Octogate feels really good, I think it'll help me sit still better and get my left/right input better instead of sometimes overshooting it and hitting up forward or up back. DP and QCF motions still feel good so yeah, now I just can't wait. Was streaming quite a bit earlier, doing some trial missions, where some friendly people from SRK and here on TL helped me out with cancels, feels good, seriously excited for AE on PC.

![]() ![]() I also like how it 'hits' the corners for diagonals, so that you have a stronger tactile response. Sanwa parts are nice and sensitive. If you want something stiffer, look into Seimitsu parts. Man, can't wait for AE to hit PC! I have it on my PS3, but to me it's a hassle to boot up the PS3 (while my PC is pretty much always on :p) Also, AE on PC has a pack for ALL costumes (all 108 available ones) for $15. Good deal! Steam won't be able to get it just yet though.

What does matter is if you plan to use any stick other than yours. 99% of people play on square gate so you'll have to bring yours everywhere. One of our local players plays on an octo gate and every is just like what the fuck cause he leaves his stick there and is like "Oh hey guys play on this, it's totally cool." when no one else in that room can even use an octo gate. Everyone always gets annoyed at that and he constantly gets blown up for doing that. If you don't mind having to lug your stick everywhere and never being able to borrow a stick at like a tournament or something then yeah go for the octo gate.

Gonna go try it out on the twins now. Okay I got it almost 80% on the twins but I can't make that shit connect on shotos. What is this. The hitboxes are different for each character and generally I'll just stop at s.hp lk tatsu c.hp ex tatsu against those characters, or if I happen to combo off a c.hp, I'll do c.hp lk tatsu s.lk ex tatsu (because a second c.hp whiffs on Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and the twins). I'll try out s.hp lk tatsu c.hp lk tatsu s.lk ex tatsu on those characters in the morning if nobody's managed to try by then. One possible explanation is that it does work, but the s.lk has to hit on a specific frame of their reeling animation, which would mean it's more of a 1-frame link than a 2-frame. I'll investigate that tomorrow too.

I've beaten the shit out of it for three years now and it still works like a charm. Also I can't believe I'm buying almost the same game for the fifth time now (vanilla 360, vanilla pc, super 360, ae 360, ae pc).
