I only use 6, because I also like to go to the arcade with some friends and there's only 6 buttons over there.
So, apparently the Fighting Edge lets you rebind the "back" button to any buttons, so he uses it to plink his jabs?
It isn't the controller. It is the game. As long as the game recognizes your controller you can map any your buttons to whatever. Go into streetfighter and try it!
Also if I understand correctly normally you aren't able to "p-link" jabs because they have the lowest priority, but if you plink jabs with the back button you get an additional input and makes 1 frame jab links easier.
You can't rebind the "back" button to say the left bumper or right bumper though, but I heard the Fighting Edge allows you to do so.

I use a madcatz SE stick for the 360. Not sure about controllers, but I can bind the back function to any of the 8 buttons. (A,B,X,Y,LB,RB,LT,RT)
I am not sure about rebinding an normal 360 pad. Sorry if I mislead you.

I don't think that's a hidden advantage in the peripheral though. It requires actual rewiring, meaning you can do it for any device. You would just have what's traditionally the LB button (or whatever button it is) wired to the Back input.

B-links is what you call em.
I remember talking about this with Flashmetroid on his stream way back. He was saying even with Gief stick is still better high-level (even with the easier 360 on pad) because he can do short short greenhand more reliably (those are one frame links, but in AE his jab was nerfed so shorts ended up doing more damage). It's like an extra 40 dmg anyway so lulz.

woop woop, tournament on sunday! i'll get off from the weekend job at 1am, then drive the 3 hours down to stupid CowTown, then back to Edmonton sunday night cuz I gotta work the real job monday morning! too hardcore
this tournament is a qualifier for team canada at canada cup, my chances of winning are virtually 0 as Jozhear, LapChi, and Riceata are there. And there's a Fei player named Nav that I can't seem to beat. Oh well, tournaments!!

lol the blanka who almost beat daigo at cc2010 and the guy who just got 3rd at a toronto tourney... lol. im a top player in edmonton now but i wouldnt be in TO. lapchi is a step ahead of me, Jamie is a step ahead of him. i think i can do better against riceata this time.
thanks Torte, hopefully i'll make an appearance in top 8!

FIXED CUZ THAT REALLY IS THE ONLY PROBLEM.
GL steve, charged characters top tier in 2012. You got dis shit nigguh.
Sakura does well against Rufus. She can meaty EX Messiah and he'll travel through for a punish, she has great normals vs divekicks, and she has ridiculous stun output (rufus has very low stun). if she had a real DP it'd be a very very tough matchup for rufus, but i think it's slightly in her favor as is
