![]() I certainly recommand downloading the only patch there was, it fixes some annoying bugs, and going human/half elf route with melee weapons, a touch of herbology, some points with explosives (molotov <3) and either temporal, force or conveyance magic (you dont really can fully develop more than 2 magic routes if you go technical and usual skills - persuation, melee, dodge, maybe heal and pick locks, plus adding primary statistics) to have the most fun experiance. god that game was so awesome, i might just play it 5th time now.

Hell, pick up the original BG and it's xpac, and install the BG tutu mod that lets you play it in BG 2's engine. I played both Kotor's on the xbox years ago, and lately I've been on a RPG / Cheap Games kick, so im thinking of picking them up for my PC. Three questions though. 1: How's the steam version of KOTOR. Does it get along with mods / fixes for windows 7? 2: Is there any way to buy a digital copy of KOTOR 2, or are only physical copies available? 3: Any comments on the Kotor 2 restoration mod?

I tried it and couldn't get it to run well. Then again, KOTOR2 would crash 75% of the times I tried to start it, but work just fine afterwards, so I always had a problematic relationship with it.

AWSOME FUCKING GAME BTW. I love Fallout and I love Oblivion, but this is the daddy of all RPGs. The part on taris is the most I have ever enjoyed playing a video game, easily.

I haven't played this since... 7 or so years ago so it's pretty much going to be like I am playing it for the first time. Will update this post when I get off work with info Sounds cool, I'd probably watch it.

That fight I breezed through on my first 2 playthroughs, then on my 3rd one I died 6-7 times. + Show Spoiler + The best strategy is to have Carth tank for you and kill the guy with the stunstick first, or he might RNG stun both of you to death. As for walkthroughts/guides/etc, avoid them. The game is linear enough that you should be able to find just about everything, and there are at least 2 plot points that make the game fucking awesome if you don't know them.

The advances in the UI and controls are just so immense that even if the story is worse or you don't like the characters as much, you can't go back to the old one because it feels so shitty to play. You're including BG1 vs BG2 in that comparison? BG2 is widely considered superior to the first.

BG1 was still a good game, but if you went back and tried to play it after playing BG2, you'd be increasingly frustrated and the interface because 2's was just that much better. It's the same thing with KoTOR.
