Anyone disagreeing with the red card has been watching a different game or is blind by bias.
First off if you argue that that gif shows Pepe not hitting him, that's because the FPS is too low.
He didn't just fly in with a straight leg, he actually kicked towards Alves his knee. This foul is a deep red card as it can cause ridiculous injuries, and it was aimed directly at the player. He never went for the ball (as CAN be seen by that gif).
Alves got lucky that he could play on.

That's because Barca and Real are playing eachother, not Schalke

Dude... possession means SHIT, if it wasn't for that SOLE decision... madrid would have won the game because the 2nd half was all madrid until that red. I'm sorry. And if EDUARDO from Arsenal got suspended for diving 2-3 years ago, then I would like alves, Pussquet and Pedro getting suspended, but obviously some people are getting what they want and that's Barcelona in the final.
Tactically, RM were fine, play for 0-0 in the first half and let barcelona tire out and then hit them hard in the 2nd half. I see no problem with that and Messi was doing JACK before the red. Also, Referees should start handing yellows to anybody that goes and complains except for captain / assist-captain.
Barcelona were diving left and right and holding their face when they got hit elsewhere to try and draw a red card before the red. After that they scored and just started diving. The funniest one must have been Pussqet
Edit: And stop calling it anti-football, it's not, you're out there to win. Such mass media bandwagonners.

You are trying to predict what 'might' have happened had Pepe not been sent off. Do you realise how dumb that is? And you don't get more tired when you have the ball lol. This shows you have never played football canadian, you get more tired chasing the ball. Barca were superior tonight, end of story.

LOL listen... look at how they were playing.... they wern't chasing... all they did was sit and play zone ... and slow the game down by fouling. It's a tactic that Brazil used against Argentina 2 years ago and it worked.

So you feel confident 0-0 was a good result to take back to the Camp Nou? And you don't concede Messi could of done what he did for the second goal at some point? That seems a lousy tactic, I would try and beat my opponent, rather than hope we could find one of our 20, 30..70 mill players to produce something from nothing. You can only rely on bullshit excuses for so long, Barca were better in so many ways tonight

The more I see it, the more it looks like a red card. Pepe should try and play football rather than being an animal all the time.

Glad Barca won really, hate to see money over skill!

the red card, should've been the police arresting Pepe for that shit, who ever argues that is a fool. Lass shouldve been booked as well. Then Marcelo steeping on pedro while he was down, by "accident"?
There was a lot of diving and fouls by both team, but what do you fucking expect, is the semi finals of a champions league plus a clasico, of course there is going to be cheating and taking advantage of anything,.. I mean I dont know if because Im south american and we are so used to this, I look at it normal, but I hate how all you euros cry about that shit. Look at a copa libertadores games (our "chmpions" league) almost every game ends up with a huge brawl lol
I dont consider Madrid out anyways, they have a great team full of start and can pull something on Camp N.
I wonder now, how is morinho going to come out and play away? will he try to attack? remember when he did the 5-0.. will he play the same? I think Pepe out is a Huge big deal, he was doing a great job but just playing under the knife all the time, his red was going to happen sooner than later
Also I dont even understand why he was playing home for a 0-0 I guess is an OK result, and he would be happy about it, but he waited until he was down until making the lines farther and attacking and pressuring more
First of all, where does the expression "9" come from? I understand you are referring to strikers, but yea... Never heard of that.
Messut? Who's that? If you're thinking of Messi, he was playing his fairly standard position.
Pepe's card could've easily have been a yellow card, considering how much the ref allowed. But it could swing either way, so red is acceptable. You're right, Diarra (Lass) should've been booked.
However, you're saying its obviously a lot of diving and fouls 'cause it's a semifinal of CL, did you see United vs Schalke? And why would we not 'cry', as it's a form of bad sportsmanship to dive. About every game in Copa Libertadores ending in a brawl, well, won't comment on that.
Don't know what point you're trying to make by saying Madrid has a 'team full of start', but their chances are extremely slim heading to Camp Nou. And you do know that it wasn't Mourinho who 'did' the 5-0 ? He 'did' the 0-5.... Hopefully he won't play the same -.-
Sorry about the long post, but your entire post was just filled with nonsense so had to post a reply.
- Regards, Manchester United Fan.

If i take a photo in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa with my hands held out, it looks like I'm touching the tower..

That's an optical illusion created by a lack of depth perception in a 2d image. Here's the reverse angle. Pepe's foot is up above the ball, closer to the camera, studs up, going into Dani Alves's leg. That said, I still think it should've been yellow, not red, because Pepe was clearly trying to get the ball.

I don't know where it comes from, but it's a fairly standard terminology. In 2 striker formations, the strikers are 9 and 10. In single striker, the 9 is a striker and the 10 is attacking mid.
He's referring to Mesut Ozil.

I tried to via my crappy internet stream, I'm just going by what others have said.
That wasn't actually my point, It was more a case of 'Pictures at different angles make things look as if they may or may not have happened'
Also, I'm not quite sure how you can say a tackle like that is 100% Legit. If it was 100% Legit he wouldn't have been sent off, and everyone in this thread would be agreeing with you.
