After all that fighting it's suprising Real Madrid don't know how to time waste better. You can hardly complain them defending too much when they actually tried to create chances with 10men. In hind sight they should have just sat back, rolled around a lot everytime anyone got near them and time wasted their way to a 0-0 draw. After all, this is the champions league. The whole point is to roll around, timewaste, defend lots, cheat and hope you get a penalty or something.
what I dont get Mourinho cried back last year at Valdano and Perez to buy a 9 and cried and cried, he finally got adebayor, now with time Higuain is back, Benzema is in form, so 3 9's... and then he comes out with Ronaldo as a 9 rofl wtf... and Messut? why was he playing on that position ??
the red card, should've been the police arresting Pepe for that shit, who ever argues that is a fool. Lass shouldve been booked as well. Then Marcelo steeping on pedro while he was down, by "accident"?
There was a lot of diving and fouls by both team, but what do you fucking expect, is the semi finals of a champions league plus a clasico, of course there is going to be cheating and taking advantage of anything,.. I mean I dont know if because Im south american and we are so used to this, I look at it normal, but I hate how all you euros cry about that shit. Look at a copa libertadores games (our "chmpions" league) almost every game ends up with a huge brawl lol
I dont consider Madrid out anyways, they have a great team full of start and can pull something on Camp N.
I wonder now, how is morinho going to come out and play away? will he try to attack? remember when he did the 5-0.. will he play the same? I think Pepe out is a Huge big deal, he was doing a great job but just playing under the knife all the time, his red was going to happen sooner than later
Also I dont even understand why he was playing home for a 0-0 I guess is an OK result, and he would be happy about it, but he waited until he was down until making the lines farther and attacking and pressuring more
I think Real Madrid wanted to play as the last game in this stadium, but instead of having one great first half they wanted to have the second one, they were making the Barca defenders have troubles to get out of their field but once Pepe got the red card the idea become useless, there were a lot of holes in the RM defense, just a matter of time until the goals come and they did...
But I still believe RM can make a good game at the Nou Camp, little chance but I BELIEVE!!! HALA MADRID!!!

Totally agree, in fact Mourinho said it himself: "It's mission impossible" that sums it up, Barça has the ticket to the final, as well as ManU.

lol should have been the police? it should have been a yellow AT BEST. Watch the replay he contacts the ball and then Dani "the lil bitch" Alves' leg. Its a contact sport and he was going into a tackle completely justified. The sad part in all of it was if Barcalona's cry baby of a team hadn't been having a lil pow wow around the ref everytime anyone was touched (or not touched at all as was the case most of the time) the ref wouldnt have shown the red.
Ill give you that Lass should have been booked but Marcelo (once again actually watch what happens please) is back peddling while looking forward towards the ball. You cant tell me he "intentionally" stepped on Pedro's leg while trying to keep his own balance. He couldn't even see him.
Obviously im a Real Madrid fan and am real pissed off by that red but i can still see the game for what it is. Fouls happen. Cards should be handed out. That red however ruined a decent game and a teams hopes.

That is not being comfortable, that is playing on the edge.
@Airship
Please explain to me two things:
1) How/why dyou get a red card if you are "defending comfortably"
2) How you score a goal without having the ball in your possession (no ridiculous answer such as "own goal" plz)
1) Just about every player in this game was fouling or going over very easily. Cards had to be bandied about for the referee to feel like he can reel the game in. That Pepe was the sacrificial lamb was pretty much just dumb luck, particularly since it's the type of challenge that would usually be a yellow. I think it may have actually calmed the game down a little bit, but when the game became 11 against 10, space appeared in the midfield, and as the game progressed and Madrid tired Messi and Affelay were able to exploit some space.
2) Counter-attacking. In most competitive sports it's considered an art form. You see fighters in the ring concede initiative all the time. People use the possession stat as a shorthand for who has been in control of the match all the time because it usually works, but it doesn't always, and until the second half it didn't particularly mean much in this tie. I feel like I'm having to explain this to a baby.
for most of this game, the play was broken up constantly by stoppages. Most of the possession that Barca had in the first half before the sending off were along their back four or in midfield. None of their attacking moves were particularly convincing, because Madrid have a disciplined defense and were good at marshaling the play into poor areas. There were almost as many opportunities for Madrid to get forward despite what the possession stat might tell you, and they might have made something of it but for some poor final balls into the area. Their wingers never really got going. I felt that Ozil in particular had a poor game. Barcelona's defense happens to be very good as well, not that you'd have any idea about that.
Mourinho does the same thing or variations of the same thing when he faces Barca. Last CL with Inter he had Eto'o basically playing as a DB and this game he puts a CB as a DM which is nothing new in catenaccio style football. Fouls are going to get you cards and its going to be up to the referee and if you get a bad call, tough luck. It was their prerrogative to be exposed to that kind of situation by playing like they did. It worked with Inter, it worked in the Copa del Rey but in the long run it does not work.
I never said counter-attacking does not work. But to counter-attack you need the ball. By having more possession you give less chances for a counter and thus the counter attacker has to be very effective in using the few it has to score, if it does not then they lose or tie in the best case. It is a much better policy to have the ball more than to have it less, so criticizing Barcelona for having a lot of possession is retarded, especially when they have such prolific strikers. If not, just look at the records and trophies they have playing this way and the effectiveness of the strategy.
When did I say Barcelona's defense was bad? you keep going on tangents that have nothing to do with the idea of possession football versus counter-attacking football. =counterattacking relies on chance (the other team making a mistake and you capitalizing with the counter) the other does not (balanced buildup). I would argue that not relying on chance is a better policy.
I would seriously ban people like this for a whole season. That is just disgusting, and it makes it hard to believe that he tried to get the ball in todays game.
But instead he just get paid millions and millions of Euros.
Dude... Possessions doesn't mean shit... Barcelona wern't doing anything and only created 1 chance in the first half and the begining of the second half was mostly real. I think Mourinho's comments really really reflect what's been happening in the past few years for Barcelona in the Champions league: Here

Possession means control, Barca controlled the game tonight, Messi won it. If you don't have the ball, you can't score, if you only have the ball 23% of the time at home, you give yourself a lower chance to ever score a goal. Barca showed what control was all about tonight. Whine about decisions as much as you want, Pepe is an animal and finally got caught vs Barca. Watch Xavi for 75 mins tonight, then watch Messi finish the game, that is football, not anti-football which Jose wants to see
Completely reckless play by Pepe, and I can't see any reason at all to complain about a straight red for that. Stupid fucking karate kick with the studs first. -__-
And that other white dressed guy in that gif should've been sent out as well for that thing he did later vs Pedro.

Yes it is true that Pepe contacts the ball first, but still he went in with a stretched stiff leg. In many competitions (for example the Dutch one) that is Bloody red if you do that in the direction of the opponent. It doesn't matter if you hit the ball first or not. And about the Marcelo one, have you actually ever played soccer at a decent lvl? If you do/did, you know where your opponent is (often, ofcourse not always). You saw him making additional moves, and if Marcelo was truely sorry, he would have apologized because, believe me, you really feel it if you stand ontop of someones leg.
I'm not pro Barca, neither pro Madrid. I think it was a hard match with anti footbal from Madrid (no it wasn't counter footbal. If you want to know what good counter footbal is look to AC-Milan in the end 90's begin 00's). I completely didn't like all the whining of almost all the players, both from Madrid and from Barcelona. Don't get me wrong, I like hard matches but I don't like whining.
