Bolt vs Light Spin, Pros and cons? bolt all the way, discjumping is not needed with nitrons and bolt has higher damage. for ctf at least.

Bolt vs Light Spin, Pros and cons? Only downside of bolt is the drop and the additional damage when disc jumping. It has a faster projectile making it much better for chasing and does 910 damage opposed to 770 of the spinfuser. If you wanna duel or play LD then go bolt launcher. Spinfuser is really good for disc jumping and thus caping.

only concern is about movement : even after tutoriels I still cant get used to that shit , i dont know when I should use ski or jetpack exactly or if i should use jetpack permanently or both jetpack+ski permanently ... It just doesnt feel right to me , the aim is pretty good though I just keep dying to people who are on my head and are able to keep moving , whenever I touch the ground ( and this happens 85% of the time ) Im sure im gonna die in like the next 5 seconds ;d And I also get stuck many times on the ground and cant get good speed , in that case i just close my eyes and wait for the respawn ... Any tips for that? Maybe cuz i never played games like that , ive always been more cs oriented than quake like games...

Unless you want to stand till to snipe something your ski button sould always be pressed. Skiing well his quite hard, even though the general idea is simple. Whenever you have to climb a hill, use your jetpack not to lose your momentum, and keep pressing the ski button when going down. The angle at which you land is also super important. You want to keep your momentum so try to approach the curves at the right angle, in other words, land the smoothest possible. That being said, you will want to use the least jetpack possible to aim your landing since it will technically slow down your fall and therefore you won't gain as much speed as you could have. You can also use ''tricks'' which will propel you further, and they depand on your class. If you have a disc launcher/thumper shoot behind you so that the spash damage accelerates you in the right direction. You can also use grenades for that (impact nitrons are quite good at that actually, low damage and hell of a boost). To turn you will need to use the terrain, so keep your eyes open for the bowl shapes or hills that bend in the direction you want to go. Its hard when you don't know the maps but after a while you will get quite good and the faster you go the more you enjoy the game, so don't get discouraged. Keep in mind there is a suicide button (K by default) that you can use if you are in the middle of nowhere and lost all your speed. The K/D ration in tribes is meaningless and often times its better to suicide and get started back on a familiar route to reach the spead you want.

In the past their job was killing incoming HO (heavy offense, normally wanted to rape the base/clear the flag with mortars) and chase flag carriers. There was also a special kind of LD called LOF (light on flag) who was responsible for killing any cappers and sniping them if they got away. Btw tao v zfz will almost certianly be casted (if not itll be deadstop vs bff, far worse matchup imo) at www.tribescast.com/live EDIT:Apparently there isn't one. Also since our OP is defunct, should we make a completely seperate thread dedicated to casts and what not due to the large volume of matches?

There one more thing : I never killed someone when he was "flying" , I have to wait till he lands to shoot so i can hit him , its strange cuz in Quake you were able to hit someone when he was flying more easily which was way more fun imo , idk im probably too terrible right now :D Also what do you recommend me to buy with my first points ? a new weapon/character? an important upgrd? I enjoy play pathfinder with his default weapon but I feel I need to hit the guy like 3 to 5 times to kill him when I die mostly from one shots :s.

I enjoy play pathfinder with his default weapon but I feel I need to hit the guy like 3 to 5 times to kill him when I die mostly from one shots :s. Hitting a good player with decent speed midair is almost impossible without a chaingun. As a pathfinder you shouldn't really try to kill people, its more about capping the flag and keeping your speed. If you feel like killing stuff you should try the soldier out. Thumper is great for close encounters and the chaingun is great for distance shots and chasing. If you are having trouble with skiing anyway you won't notice much of a difference, with medium you can go to 200 ''easily''. I personally hate heavies so... try it out and find out if you enjoy it. Try the classes a bit and IMO invest in a perk or two and general upgrades, not a new class. If you like pathfinder a lot you are going to want egocentric, etc... The default guns do quite well, I personnaly chose to invest in upgrading the class fully instead of being naked and having a shiny gun.

Some tips for practicing is starting at the apex of nice large mountain/hill and jet straight up, then let yourself fall. You'll have to nudge forward a bit so you land on the declining slope but if you time it right and are holding down spacebar you'll feel the nice smooth motion of skiing. Let your character build up speed as as soon as you feel like you're beginning to slowdown you can start jetting again and try and hit the next mogul. See how far you can go before you lose too much momentum. Some things to remember/try: 1. Whenever going faster than walking pace you should ALWAYS be holding down spacebar. 2. Aim at the feet. Landing mid-airs or blue plates is super satisfying but doesn't make the player. 3. Unlock the armor upgrades first. More energy and life is more important than a new gun. 4. Dueling is all the high ground. This is often influenced by good energy management. Where possible, don't jet until you see your opponent jet first. This means he'll likely have to land first which means you can shoot from above, flinging him away which basically resets the duel so you can wait for him to jet once again. Rinse repeat.

sometimes like when a heavy is harrassing the base and i kill them. its so easy for them to just respawn and get back to that side in matter of 10 or so seconds. its doesnt have to be a heavy just saying it seems like a team can keep constant pressure on a base without much penalty.
