Don't disc jump. Use the impact nitrons, they do less damage for more boost. Also it helps if you use egocentric because that reduces self damage by 35%.

It says 15 when I buy it o-O
You need to upgrade it.
Running the Phase Rifle with two Ultra Cap (+20 energy), fully upgraded armor (+10 energy) and energy regen thing fully upgraded is insanely fun as Sentinel. No scopes are really easy to hit and being able to hit two 510 shots in quick succession makes killing flag holders super easy lol.
TDM seems so counter-intuitive to Tribes. You're suppose to use speed to travel around the map, but then you go too fast to really hit anyone (especially with the spinfusor).
Maybe I will play CTF, but I'm really looking to get as much exp as possible.

If you disc jump even with the 35% reduced damage, wont you get oneshot by sniper?
I didn't know there was a TL thread for this :O I love this game

I've mostly stopped playing CTF because whenever I get paired with a bad team in pubs I get really salty ;_; When I do play CTF, I'm only playing supporting roles since even though I can cap like nobody's business it doesn't mean anything when there are 4 other people trying to llama the flag and derp it across the map. Really liking midfield Soldier and Raider~

What mines? Raider doesn't have any mines. Disc jumping isn't worth it but impact nitron jumping certainly is. With saftey third you get a total of 3 grenades (honestly I wouldn't do it more than twice anyways) and ego makes them only do 200 damage or so to yourself for a 60mph boost.
I've been playing this game since yesterday and I have been having a blast. But since it's Closed Beta, does that mean everything will be wiped at the end of the beta? including unlocked contents paid with gold?

Nope. They've confirmed at some point that there will be no wipes after the beta is over.
All the xp you earn now wont get wiped out. There will be a reset prior to launch like there was one few patches ago which changed a lot of thing, giving you back all the xp you had earned earlier. I'm pretty sure you get your gold back too, however buying boost might be better if you play somewhat actively.

That's good to know. Thanks. Gonna pay $60 and unlock everything tomorrow.

The $60 won't get you all of the upgrades, only all of the new weapons. You'll have to upgrade each one by playing (admittedly it's quite easy with VIP status + boost giving you triple xp)
I'd advise you try to find out which ones are garbage to avoid wasting gold on them and saving it for something more valuable later down the road

Play what you enjoy. Simple.
this is pretty much true. everyone's score will be pretty much the same, but you do get a little more exp for being higher up in the points. if you ask 6 people who were in the match the whole time, top 3 vs bottom 3, their final exp gain wont be that much different, only by a few hundred points (i've asked in several games what everyone's xp score has been since the last big patch). xp gain has a lot to do with final team score (flag caps, see: match length) then anything else. but there are factors like how many kills, how many returns, etc., that get you more xp at the end

It's definitely based on performance. Games where I get a lot of kills or complete a lot of objectives give me more experience overall. Admittedly it doesn't make a massive difference from when I do more poorly - rarely over a 300xp difference aside from those games where I kill 30 people in TDM or cap all 5 flags in CTF (or first win of the day, of course)
Games where you get a seemingly high score you may simply have been playing longer or won (I do believe you get a bonus for winning). I thought it was experience based for a long time too, but one of the devs said it wasn't on their forums. Granted I have no hard data, and there have been several major patches since, but I'm pretty sure that it was at least at one point purely time based, and have no data to suggest that was changed since.
It's also possible that you do get a bonus for being near the top of the server, but I have no information on that so I can't say
