The loadout system has become extremely boring, seems like capping and flag chasing is by far the best way to help your team and change the outcome of the game. There needs to be customization, and not spawning in loadout. Some of the classes are so useless. Oh yea, and SMGs, great idea in a game with 0 cover. For the generator stuff, well that is extremely misleading for the map with the capital ships as the turrets and inventory stations are really useful there and the generator is reasonable to defend.
The ice map no one even cares because the turrets are useless, the inventory stations are too far, and it is the hardest generator to defend. Not to mention only Shrikes are really the only vehicle worth it on this map. I suppose radar might be useful as there are a lot of angles on the map, but people just really give up on the generator on this map.
The other map with the platform is kind of a mix of the other two. It isn't easy to defend and the inventory stations are pretty inconvenient, but vehicles are pretty good on that map and so are the base turrets.
The SMGs, chaingun, and assault rifle are really good, but the AR is the only one that has range and in turn it is actually pretty bad up close (You need a ton of head shots to kill someone in a clip).

Gens are useful if you make use of them. Honestly I think air strikes should be tied into gens, but that is my opinion.

Gens are still extremely important, even on that bloody ice map. If both flags are capped and one side has operation upgraded turrets (non upped ones are useless), they have a safe haven for the carrier. Not to mention radar is fantastic! Tech turrets are hilariously enough way better then the plasmas though. They can still definitely thin out the herd of flag chasers.
Rangers are free kills in my eyes unless they have out and can use the thumper. Pistol is more reliably accurate for finishing people off then the assault rifle hilariously enough. Most of the time rangers are free kills for me as soldier. I haven't encountered any decent raiders yet, but I hear from people the raider's smg is op in its current state.
Whats upsetting is I don't seem to be getting tokens based on performance. I'll get on average 50 tokens despite finishing in 1'st place overall. What motivation do people have to actually be a team player instead of screwing around? I don't mind this as much because I'm a try hard, but it's always nice to see games like Red Orchestra that really reward people for doing the objective.

it's already been discussed that tokens are awarded based on time played, not performance. Rangers are a better open air duelling class than the soldier since the thumper is a touch more accurate at closer ranges just due to the firing mechanics (no trigger lag, faster projectile) and the AR is definitely better than the pistol in a high intensity duel (both players dodging around and juking). Soldier has better open air grens though, so it's not a huge difference. I've used both with good success.
Also don't get why people dislike kata. It's the best map by far, good open cap paths onto the flagstand, a big base and a lot of space for chases, with solid intercept positions. Beats the heck out of drydock and bella at least.
