Le what.
....
Not sure what to respond. nj4+gl = bad in your eyes?
In any case, the new stuff does look cool. Might be buying, not entirely sure yet..

Plasma gun=infinite airmails. Also the new raider weapon nj5b will have a clip damage output of 4760, which just seems so stupid powerful.

Oh, God. Why a raider patch? Why?

Is the sentinel unlocked primary worth it? the name escapes me atm but its the full damage when shooting from hip gun. Sounds amazing on paper but I have been bitten by that before.
|
Oh good lord, that gold I've been saving might be used for this.
Buttt I prefer the original skins with the grenade launcher worshipping animation..

Making the raider even better? REALLY HIREZ? And they said they wanted a competetive game....

The phase rifle. Lot of ppl recommend not bothering with it. The dmg it does is based on your current energy level - instead of the BTX1 which is based on time during scope. What basically happens is that you're forced to use Energy Recharge pack and maybe even ultra capacitor I/II. Then when someone comes along to drop you, if you've just fired, you have no Energy, can't get away, and just die. Instead if you want to really augment your sentinel, invest in the falcon pistol.. Amazing weapon, will make you really tuff in duels. Personally i avoid claymores cuz the concept is useless in Tribes, so with falcon and grenades - you can make a real dent in anyone coming to get you, especially Pathfinders...

If you have good aim and can maintain stationary position (ie. Drydock) Phase is fantastic as it lets you one-combo a pathfinder (as opposed to BXT). If you have bad or slow aim for multiple strikes or can't/shouldn't (for chasing) maintain stationary position BXT is better.
Is it worth unlocking? Debatable, as it's sideward movement. They both have their pros and cons.
Is the pistol worth unlocking? Again debatable, as most duelists will kick your ass even with it, making it often quite a waste of time even trying.

Falcon is a far cry superior than Nova Blaster... Given the choice, it will definitely help longevity vs anyone coming to track you down... But if you're all for killing out as soon as someone creeps up on your hill.. then yea.. don't bother with the pistol...

Or you can just use the even better option. Kill yourself and get back to sniping faster than it would take for you to duel him.
|
I'm really looking forward to the private servers. Its such a pain in the ass to try and get a group together to play, now that won't be a problem. Also I'd like to hear HiRez's thoughts on why the raider was buffed.

Aye I just hit k. No point.
Obviously I can see its use in naked spawn servers but those servers tend to be so hit/miss at the moment in terms of popularity.

Played a game yesterday, is the LAR better than the Shotgun (as Pathfinder)? Also had my first bike ever ^^ its fun but has it advantages over normal skiing? i find the mobility with a bike less than skiing around

Those new raider weapons really look OP. Maybe plasma has very small splash area? I guess it should be okay then... And the other weapon looks like it could be dodged somewhat? ... dunno, probably not.
They still look like a far better/stronger choice then other raider weapons.

Notably, you can actually hit and damage things at a distance. Also, the damage, while less than the shotgun up close, is still not bad, and you can easily hit your duelist opponent with one explosive hit, and then finish him off with the LAR if he's running away, something which is more tricky with the shotgun.
As for the bike, it really depends. While it's not very likely that you'll go faster with the bike than when skiing at top speed, you'll reach top speed faster (especially if you get stuck in depressions or on flatland), and will be able to maintain it more consistently no matter the obstacles.

Ok so i save up exp for the LAR ^^ and i should try out the other classes, one for every armor type would be best?
Aiming at a fast moving target is difficult but its much more fun than instant hit weapons ^^

just started playing today and the game is fukin sick.... is there any teamliquid equivalent for the tribes community? i'd really like to accelerate the learning process if possible

Is it just me or is the "grenade" used by Brutes sort of ridiculous indoors, I was defending a generator as Tech one round and one Brute spent an entire round just suiciding to me with that grenade.
Referring to the one that floats mid-air and shoots lazors everywhere.

Referring to the one that floats mid-air and shoots lazors everywhere. Yeah the fractal is pretty much bullshit.
Too bad brute has no chaingun so it doesn't see any comp use.
