Trucking in America sounds sexier than trucking in Europe, to me at least.

Just make sure that you finish your current delivery before installing the dlcs

Is "The Crew" worth it? I'm seeing a lot of negative feedback so I'm not sure...

Highly recommend Mini-Metro sale. Fun puzzle game that's not too stressful but not too easy.
|
5k games too, holy shit. I got a few games so far this sale. Dead Rising 2, Kingdoms of Amalur, Pathologic, Mass Effect 1+2 (played them years ago but I pirated ME1 so I want to replay them and have the choices carry over)
Dunno what else, maybe pick up Terraria finally and something else. I already have quite a big backlog of games though lol. Also been having an urge for a medieval game like Total War, some of the mods I've been hearing about too sound very intriguing.

Any good trading games You guys recommend? I mean something like Patrician or whatever.. The game where trade is main theme.
|
Anyone either recommend or advise to avoid Hyper Light Drifter?
So far this sale I've only snagged Civ 5. Am debating between Doom or Rise of Tomb Raider (I enjoyed the last one), think I'm finally going to get started with Mass Effect, and am looking for one or two more games to round out my roster.
I was also considering Elite Dangerous but am noting it's been getting more mixed/negative reviews of late.

Elite Dangerous is more on the sim side of things than a game. There is a massive galaxy attempting a 1:1 scale to explore and the game is really beautiful. There isn't much of a story or direction though.
If the mechanics of flying/dogfighting interest you or you want to explore a massive galaxy and buy and upgrade ships then it is a good game. There is trading and mining too. Interactions with NPCs and factions is a bit limited though and no where near EVE level.
Some people are upset about the expansion system. They still upgrade the base game with pretty big patches, if the stuff in the season passes interests you then you can get that or pass on it.

ETS without a wheel is gets stale fast. It's just not the same feel without the hardware.

I've got a few hours in Windward . I don't think there's a ton of trading, at least not as a central focus. There are missions to bring supplies from one city to another occasionally, called 'requisitions' that are picked up randomly while sailing around. If I had to describe it based on four hours of playing, Windward is a pirate sea-combat game with slight RTS elements (zone control) and very casual in nature.
e: Also there's an equipment system for upgrading your combat stats, and four types of ship you can use.

is it worth playing? its pretty cheap and good ratings.

I highly recommend Hyper Light Drifter! I also recommend you play it with a controller.
The game is fun, challenging, has good controls and a beautiful art style. The story itself I did not understand much.

i think Windward is multiplayer no?

I don't really get why there seems to be a majority of big nono on the waypoint system. Actually I think that the quicksave system does not go with every kind of game, and generally not in FPS, you can just quick save every 10 seconds or so, and voilà, game's done. Sure it can be frustrating, but when you finally go though a tough moment, the feeling is even better!

Played Guild2. Nothing else / something newer on the horizon?

I'll let you quick save in the middle of a fight in a FPS then... You will load and die. Voilà ! Your save's done.
FPS is the only type of game that should have quicksaves eveytime (at least for me). When i go home, game for one hour and have to stop... i don't like the day after to have to redo 5 or 10 minutes (sometimes 1 FUCKING HOUR (fuck you Farcry blood dragon)) of what i did yesterday.
A game should have quicksave and checkpoints. Skyrim is a good example of how a save system should be (or Starcraft for that matter).

If anything, this is an argument AGAINST quicksave lmao.
Who would want a feature that could fuck up your save file?
A combination of quicksave + autosave (stored to separate files) is best imo. If quicksave fucks you over, you have a fallback point.
If I have to choose between ONLY quicksave, or ONLY checkpoints, i take the latter anyday. Have some faith in the devs to not be retards and implement checkpoints at proper timing (see call of duty campaigns)
