Shamefully, I wasted around 30 minutes in first area after getting the shotgun thanks to that. I was playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty as the hardest one was blocked for some reason I can't remember. Those fireball throwers monkeys can kill you with 2 hits. | ||

Well you saved me 40€  Wolfenstein was bad enough for checkpoint in the highest difficulty. And it was a "good" waypoint system in that game. But having to hear AGAIN and AGAIN 2minutes of talks before dying again... and wolfenstein wasn't really hard. i already finished Parasite eve thank you but not anymore. (For reference, there was a 5 minutes cynematic before the last boss that you COULDN'T pass PE and it was a hard one). | ||

I don't believe there is a single moment in doom where you need to listen to NPC's talk before re-attempting an encounter. Any of the prolonged in-game talks always have a checkpoint before and after the scene. | ||
