Has anyone tried out Destination Sol? It's Free-to-Play (though I think in this case it means 100% free) and looks like one of those oldschool top-down space exploration games.
|
sounds cool, but I'm wary of indie free to play games, even on steam, ever since uncharted waters (or something) was actually malware

Picked up Divinity: Original Sin on sale. The game has already killed me twice with overpowered bullshit and I have no idea why. I dunno, I'm not feeling it right now (despite the fact that having my 2 main characters constantly arguing is hilarious), but will give it a bit longer.

did anyone bought Dying Light ? any good ? ive heard about some terrible performance on AMD cards
it looks cool and i had fun with Dead Island, and since it supports modding

Blasphemous to say, but I enjoyed sleeping dogs a lot more than GTAIV. (Even more blasphemous but I haven't played GTAV). If it is still up on sale somewhere grab it!
|
Yup, I didn't even finish GTA IV, found it to be quite tedious. Got very close to 100% on Sleeping Dogs and all the DLC.

No big deal there, GTA IV was boring as hell. It was basically GTA III with better graphics (the time it came out) and some gameplay improvements. While taking the fun out of the game at the same time. They took out almost everything that made GTA:San Andreas good : Fun weapons like Flamethrower got taken out, Driving was not fun anymore due to the overdone "realistic behaviour" of cars, almost nothing happens in a city this big (random events) like criminals shooting and cops chasing them etc. Sometimes a lonely cop chases a single civ. Buying stores, clubs and houses is something I also missed. Earning money was a pain, mostly through missions which were almost all the same. Drive from A to B then shoot this. No end game content too. Slowdowns and stuttering when a lot was going on etc. Some things were good like more details in the city. Like civs living their life, mobile phone that you can actually use. But it was just not enough. There was just too much missing. Sorry could go on more but I rather stop now (This was all about the PS3 Version when i bought it back then).
Anyone knows when CS GO might get a sale again? Im thinking of getting it. Really want to try a competitive game again cause I have almost no motivation anymore to play SC II.

Remember Me had pretty shit writing as well. Like, the corniest stuff imaginable...looks like DONTNOD needs to hire a proper writer.

Csgo goes on sale pretty much every major sale and will sporadically go on sale too. There's probably some spring sale coming up in a month or two.

You probably won't see this post but the game is not the easiest to start and most of the players that finished it probably remade their characters early to either get a party way more specialized and suffer the early game until their characters get their combo/signature skills or use some efficient all purpose skill(summon spider).
Early game is hard and before your characters powers get to the point where they can handle themselves you can use some of those tips :
-Do not get a water mage or a 2hand warrior as main characters because you get good characters with those archetype early and multiple warriors or mage with the same elements don't stack well.
-Get 1 point in Geomancer and spider summon on both your starting main characters if you want to have a smooth early game it's the easiest way. For the sacrifice of an abilty and a skill point for each characters this will allow you to be able to get to level 6-7 and see the strengths of your character appear whatever you want them to become. This cannot fail regardless of int and is available as starter skill. The spider scale with the caster's level
-Do not rush into a fight, in 90% of the cases you will have better result waiting for enemies to come to you while you buff/summons in the first 1-2 turns. If you want to separate characters, flank or draw AoE away from your ranged squishies Summon your spider in melee range of the enemy.
-Buffs is where damage come from in mid-late game: Oath of Desecration is game changing(Witchcraft), get it on every character with decent int. Hastened buff coming from fast track(scoundrel need dex) and wildfire(pyrokinesis need int) Stack those 2 buffs on one character and have him decimate monsters.
I myself had a 2 mage(water/lightning + pyrokinesis+earth), 1 rogue, 1 2Hand warrior, 2spiders from starting chars, 1 frost elem from water mage.Oath of desecration on everyone( it fails pretty often from rogue and warrior with low int), Fast Track on rogue, wildfire on both mage. Having 2 characters buffed with hastened and +50% damage allow some most needed burst. Basically I summon stall/draw fire/flank and buff my 2melee as the enemy gets close then try and burst them with my melee.
