It was really the only good open world game in a long time until GTAV and Shadows of Mordor came out. But it was really refreshing compared to a lot of the shit open world games we have been getting from Ubisoft.

So on that note any idea for some fun 2 players online coop games? We've played Portal 1 and 2, Trine and Magicka already, any suggestions? edit: i was thinking about trying alien swarm, it free of course so it's not a big risk but anyone tried it?

Since it is not on your list, i'll mention the same game i always do, Terraria. Amazing game to play with other people, just don't play it alone. Other ideas: Orcs must Die 2, the Serious Sam games.

Alien Swarm was fun for a few hours with 4, unsure if it'd be any good with 2 tbh, does it even have AI marines?

Gauntlet (2014, from the Magicka devs) is quite fun. Depending on what type of game you're looking for I'd say check out Sanctum, Borderlands 1+2, Torchlight 2, Warframe, Dead Space 2+3, Battleblock Theatre, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and Monaco. There's also stuff like Mount Your Friends, Samurai Gunn, and Nidhogg that are meant more for Local play than online, but I think some of them have online as well (although I'm not 100% sure on that).

Even though I've played them solo, I can strongly recommend Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They're fun to play

As for the other games i'll keep an eye on them at the next steam sale, i already have monaco so i think we'll try getting this. Gauntlet seems cool as well.
