Even though it's $5, I'm not sure I want to spend it for no added gameplay. I think it adds one level too, when you travel from a certain place to another in the original game it's just a travel, with the DLC the trip is a big level. Are there any sources for your claim? Afaik director's cut includes a DLC in the main story, adds that extra level of helping Tong's son to escape, improves boss battles and improves graphics a bit. "The Missing Link" is a DLC that turns a travel cut into a mission. I donno if its included in the Directors cut but thats what he meant.

Is Risk of Rain any good ? It looks interesting, but I'm not sure about it...

Whenever an indie game topic is mentioned within a group of friends of mine this game instantly comes to mind for some reason.
They like the hardcore mode associated to this and that is mainly why they find this quite addicting. I'm not much of an indie game player though but this game is something they like to talk a lot most of the time.

Well my source is I played it =) The DLC you talk about is that, a new mission. And yes it's in the director's cut.

The DLC included was the Tong mission and Missing Link, which takes place on the ship to the 2nd to last area. I have both, have played both separately, I'm not sure if I want to pay $5 just so I don't have to launch a separate client to play Missing Link.

For those who still have not seen it, Left 4 Dead 2 is free right now. At least in America.
No idea how long this will last.
EDIT: Ope, that's why everyone was complaining about the store being down. Well, it's still there and the store is up.

Bastion is on Flash Sale. If you haven't played it already, this is your chance to fix that

Dark souls 80% off, pretty good deal if you can get into the game.

the sales have been pretty weak so far, kinda disappointing
dark souls only good one in last few days

Picked up "Gone Home" after hearing a lot of good things about it. I love interactive games, so the deal was too good to pass up. I agree that this year's holiday Steam sale is weaker than previous years. I found this year's GameFly's Thanksgiving deals much better.

also, everyone vote spelunky! great roguelike :D

How taxing is Dark Souls in terms of hardware/performance?

Aren't games by definition interactive?

And if you never/almost never play with a controller, just play with mouse and keyboard. I heard that a lot about games. After I played Trine I told a friend of mine and we had a short conversation about it. At one point he was like: Yeah but you need a controller for it. I played that game with mouse and keyboard without problems and never thought about a controller. On Dark Souls: I tried that game at a friend's home and he was using a controller. And even after 30 minutes I had no idea which buttons to click beside attack and dodge... I'm totally not used to controller's and I guess people who never use them would play through the whole game before they really learn how to use the controller better than mouse and keyboard.

If you use DsFix (which is highly recommended) then you can adjust the graphic options and if you push everything all the way up it can tax an older system like mine a bit (3 year old motherboard, GTX 9800+) but should run absolutely fine if you have a more modern system.
As others have said, you might wanna skip it if you don't a controller, or better yet just go buy a controller lol. The game is well worth it. They have fixed the mouse and keyboard controls with mods but they are still sub-par compared to a controller.
Definitely some good deals today. If for some reason you still haven't got Dark Souls, Hotline Miami, or Bastion, you should check them out.

Actually Trine is probably better played with keyboard/mouse as the movement and aiming are separated. Nothing beats a mouse for aiming accuracy (well, except tactile input I guess, but it's not really an option there )

the keyboard controls for trine 2 and dark souls are nothing alike. the keyboard controls for dark souls are really really really atrocious imo.
