Overall though it was a pleasurable experience and I would put it up there with Portal 2 for GotY so far, but we still have many months left in 2011. This game saddens me in some ways because it could have been a masterpiece if they had just fixed some really annoying/obvious issues and spent more time on the last part of the game.

I was very impressed by the save system, you could just spam F5 all the time and barely even notice the game was saved, they really made it silly fast. Edit: I'm just dumb, I guess the (insane) part meant the difficulty ![]()

Whatever, I was near the end of Chapter 2 and I hear Chapter 3 is only like 30 minutes and I already know the ending so it's no huge deal.

Inventory management was a nightmare and I can't believe the doors made it into the game in the shape they are in. Difficulty is weird, as others pointed out it gets easier as the game goes on and Quen is broken. Not being able to save (insane) is an artificial way to increase difficulty, and not a good one. I cannot agree with you on the Insane part. One could easily argue that any difficulty but insane is an artificial way to do difficulty. One life, one chance is the true roleplaying way to play the game. If the game lets you survive any encounter by playing it safe and having some skill then that is the true difficulty. Artificial difficulty is when games send you against opponents that kill you with one spells/strike no matter what you do unless you step on the right place at the right time and that is the only way to do it. And the game expects you to figure that out after x number of reloads. And then silly people claim that is a tought game. No, I call that a silly game.

The only complaint I have is that Chapter 3 seemed kind of rushed, it was way shorter then Chapter 1 and 2.

Waiting for nvidia to pull their fingers out of their asses and do something about it. Really? I've got i5-2500k and the 560 gtx ti and I only noticed a very tiny amount of slowdown on ultra. I thought the 460 and 560 were pretty close. Then again I basically only play dota and sc2 other than this, so maybe I'm blinded by shiny and new. Also glad I read a bit of this before playing much - I found that quen was pretty stupid already. Might just skip it in that case.

I almost forgot about that. I guess this will be the expansion pack for the game that they were talking about? Or maybe a new game entirely? Either way, more Witcher can't be a bad thing.
