1) every place that's supposed to be sunlit is just SUPERBRIGHT, it's unreal, as bright as a clean notepad document + shining, so really hurting my eyes and killing any reasonable gameplay as soon as sunlight is involved <.< 2) Often (about 70%) in the dialogue sequences, the whole screen is totally blurred (sometimes faces are excluded) which is just plain annoying. Any hints/solutions? ![]()

Any hints/solutions? ![]() There is supposed to be a patch coming today, maybe that will fix your issue. I am not that knowledgable on graphic terms so I can't really help you much other than advise you to play around with the video options or downloading the newest graphics driver (275.27 beta driver for nvidia cards is recommended). You can adjust brithness/gamma ingame though if you think the game is too bright.

Plugged in xbox controller and haven't died since (8 hours in or so), without using magic or traps mind you.

Just need to scrape together money :> how graphically intensive is it? I don't know if my XPS 15 laptop can handle it.

I don't know if my XPS 15 laptop can handle it. It's pretty fucking intense. However, I AM running a 1024x768, so that's probably how I'm maxing it. Make sure to turn off ubersampling and SSAO however, those just rape your frame rate.

Do you mean the hardest difficulty with reloadable saves? The hardest difficulty setting is like Hardcore mode in Diablo 2; you die, that's it.

It took me about 30 hours on Insane, but I died in the first chapter once and had to restart. The first chapter seems way harder than the later ones, because the skills that add to your survivability seem really strong.

It really panned out though, and other than the Dragon, I found the other scenes to be very forgiving. (For a Witcher 1 player anyways ![]() HOTFIX OUT TODAY FOR AMD USERS. Sadly they apparently don't support vista so I shall sit on my thumbs. The fix mostly concentrated on Crossfire optimization, but single GPU users should notice a slight improvement according to CDRed. Q: Does anyone know if you can quickload on insane RIGHT BEFORE you die? Don't stress it too much. I'm gonna play it through one more time before I really try insane. Q: Does anyone notice a difference in the Witcher 2 when you import a save? I loaded a save where Shani was my lover and I was a friend of the Scoi'tel (sp?) and nothing seems different. OR the save I got was whack and not actually nonhuman friendly, anyone know? (I've finished the prolouge and seen no changes, other than my gear.)

I loaded a save where Shani was my lover and I was a friend of the Scoi'tel (sp?) and nothing seems different. I don't even know if there is a quickload hotkey. You can definitely press Esc and load a Savegame though before you die. This doesn't help too much though because the greatest danger is imo being one-hit from behind. The only time i really needed this was in Chapter 2 for + Show Spoiler + the quest in which you play the battle as a ghost, as you have to fight multiple enemies without the ability to dodge/use signs/use items at all. I reloaded every time I lost health, which made this quest really annoying. You should also always watch out for the Quicktime Events, if you die in one of those the game will be over too. I didn't have my Witcher 1 Savegames anymore, so I can't tell you anything about the second question. From what I've heard though, the differences are very small.

However, I have noticed in my 2nd play through that IF you sided with the Order of the Flaming Rose in TW1, near the end in Loc Muinne I think, when you encounter a some soldiers of the order under command of Radovid, they'll let you pass without the need for fighting. Haven't noticed anything else apart from this lol.
