I know there are no quests in the game and that its a very open world. So let say you exit the starting area do you just free roam area's? If so are there certain area's where the enemys will be a much higher level then you? Thanks to anyone who answers. Think of it more like a network instead of free roaming. Things are still seperated into areas which are linked to each other with paths. Most of the time, you find keys and shortcuts to new areas by completing easier areas. It's not impossible to end up in a place much too high for you. In that case, you simply die like a man and try to at least give that 10' demon a scar he'll remember you by.

As a sidenote; i've spent countless amount of souls for weapons and level ups, where i've only intended to raise specific skills to get that new weapon equipped. When i get it, it turns out the weapon(s) in question do less damage than the one i was equipping before! Im getting all confused by the stats. What does it mean when the equipment info screen lists damage as something like this: "Battle Axe 109 (dmg?) -79(what is this? Minus 79?)

Minus 79?) -79 is because you do not have high enough stats to equip the weapon. the first number is the effectiveness of the weapon, (this case 109) while it may or may not be better than your current weapon depends on scaling+ your stats, any possible on hit effects, and your own personal skill level with using those weapons attacks. as for buffs, if you look at your status screen you can see all the icons in the game so just compare. (poison resistance uses the poison icon, strength uses the strength icon)

I'm just doing it for the sunlight medals but 15k a pop ain't bad either. Farmed sexy Quelaag so I could get 40k souls (although that pathetic Invader gives 8k anyway) and bought KAKAKA KAAAARMIC JUSTICE. Haven't used it yet, actually I might go try it now OK so I tried it vs the Big Black mace guy...kinda flattened me. Tried it vs King Ricard and it procced and knocked him back. Don't know how much damage but do know getting stabbed that badly is not good

Even around 58, I was two shotting everything with +5 black knight sword. If you really want to know how to get there + Show Spoiler + Go to the path towards moonlight butterfly. Right when you reach the open area, look to your right and see a tree you can attack to reveal a hidden path and from there, its just killing everything and going foward. You'll see the treasure at the end. It's the wolf ring which is very useful in situation where you cannot afford to get staggered. Ah, thanks for the info. I didn't actually explore the Abyss yet, that was next in line. I just thought there was some easy stupid way within the area to get up that cliff. I do literally, and will eventually, explore everything. I constantly google stuff on my secondary monitor while I play. I think I'll likely be at least level 110 for the first play through ![]()

I couldn't find any summon signs to bring any allies, and every time I loitered hoping one would pop up someone would invade. I was actually fairly high level (around 80) but I have a fairly middling build so my dps isn't that high...and that boss fight is all about dps. I should say that I think it's because I was in the Sun covenant I couldn't find any allies. Once I switched back to Way of White before final boss I was able to summon allies again. Possible that's why I got so many invasions as well (I was generally getting a lot)

+ Show Spoiler + Just have to go for the one on the right first. First time I went for the left one, second time I fell off after killing swing Bed of Chaos was the most frustrating to me. Just *run run run* fall to death. *run run run* fall to death, etc etc...then finally make it

Now does it matter if I go with the "Spear" that has ParamBonus D/C (Str/Dex) or the "Winged Spear" that has has E/C when I have a slight strength favoring build? I want to start upgrading spears and I'm just not sure how this system works :/.

There is a merchant in the sewers that sell slightly more expensive arrows, can't recall any others right now thought.

I've gone kind of a hybrid str/dex right now, kind of like the Executioners Axe (I think it was called) build in the first one. I want to start upgrading spears and I'm just not sure how this system works :/. The letters actually cover a range of what the multiplier could be for each stat. Example: E = 1.0x - 1.2x D = 1.2x - 1.4x C = 1.4x - 1.6x In this case, if you had 20 str and 30 dex: if you had a E/D/-/- weapon it would give you 20-24 + 36-42 for a total of 56-66 extra damage. if you had another weapon that is D/E/-/- it could give you 24-28 + 30-36 for a total of 54-64 extra damage. Keep in mind upgrading a weapon will often increase the bonus from the stats (although it is often small increments, so it may not change to the next *letter grade*). Also note some weapons receive different bonus damage types from different stats (eg, increase magic damage with int stat, and physical from str).

It is possible to get the tail via melee damage. Jog up and down the stairs to bait the dragon to fly down for the landing/attack, and it's tail should hang over the side of the bridge. If you're fast, you can run down and hit it with a melee weapon. This isn't easy but it should be do-able.
