Well, it's the middle of the night. The good platoon leaders are asleep.

Noteable platoons/outfits on Miller:
252nd: They never move out with less than 252 tanks but otherwise quite decent. Usually have 1-2 public platoons open.
WASP: Often quite solitary, usually on their TS with WASP-only platoons and they often don't react to command chat. They are quite good though.
CONZ: Consortium. They do quite nice Galaxy drops and infantry play. Usually very organized but not always public platoons. One of the officers trained SC2 with TLO, forgot the name though.
DL: Usually have a public platoon open. Lack the charismatic leadership of someone like Zukhov but they do some nice, dynamic play and they can adapt well to the tides of battle.
Zukhov: Charismatic leader. Focusses on strong infantry based strategy which often ends up on the losing end of a vehicle Zerg but the battles are often epic.
GAR: German outfit with usually 1 public platoon focussed on either full air or full vehicle play depending on their mood.

You should try to join one of those platoons whenever possible.

Hey guys, my friend and I are really trying to get into this game but we just cannot figure it out. We both spawn, and run around for about 5 minutes trying to find people only for a tank to come by and blow us up with us not being able to do anything about it. What is really frustrating is how hard it is to find people to shoot and the fact that there are so many tanks/airships. Are we doing something wrong?

Things you can do:
  • Join an organized squad/outfit (one that actually sticks together and issues orders, ideally)
  • Use instant action to deploy into areas with fights
  • Get your own planes/tanks and travel to contested areas
  • Look for flashing areas on the map
  • Check the "Enemy activity" box on your map to see where the enemy is active

Alternatively, if you find yourself far away from anywhere you want to be(eg. enemies) you can simply spawn as far in the direction of where you want to go, redeploy and repeat until you can spawn at the point you want to.

This is useful if you're on cooldown for quick deploy and either out of ressources or at a base with no proper terminals for the situation.

the biggest tip is use all of your resource equally.

if you've bought guns for one, spawn a plane and live as long as you can. once you die, spawn a tank, or a sunderer AMS to reinforce a big push. once that vehicle dies, just play light assault and take skulls until your resource/cooldowns are back!

i had max stacks of 40 grenades and c4 like 3 days ago and now they're both empty...

I hate people who run infront of me when I'm suppressing an area with riflenades. Like, what is it that makes you want to charge infront to take the grenade and the knife hit I have to do after firing a grenade (to avoid reload bug)? Just...stay...the...fuck back all You'd think people with BR 30+ would know there's no character collision and that running through someone working with explosives is a fucking bad idea, but no.

I've been lone-wolfing for a while now (I'm around BR 25ish).
So far my favourite style of play is Mosquito combat, it feels so satisfying/rewarding to outmaneuver enemy pilots. I don't really farm certs, I kinda just log on and do whatever feels fun.

I've put most of my certs into Engineer/Mosquito upgrades, but my tanks are all completely upgrade-less and I should probably sort that out. I'm a complete novice when it comes driving tanks but I feel like I'm unnecessarily losing tank battles that I should be winning when I come up against properly upgraded tanks.
What sort of tank upgrades should I prioritize?

For lightnings, the chassis that improves break is excellent for ducking in and out of cover. For the gun, you'll probably want the HE for infantry farming. IR sights is good and cheap for all guns. IR smoke is pretty good now, since every HA and their mother is running the ground/air lockon missile.

Main battletanks are often well off with the HEAT gun, so you can engage other tanks and still be effective against infantry. Honestly though, I've only bought a couple of upgrades for my lightning, I don't like tank combat all that much, I prefer to fly my mossie and our MBT is crap, good for infantry farming, but all other tanks will kill it in a duel.

If you really enjoy your mossie then I'd just continue upgrading that one. Magazine size for the rotary to max, flak armor max and all the ammo capacity upgrades are pretty expensive.


Best feeling ever, outfly an A2A missile ESF in a duel. Worst feeling ever, after outflying said ESF, the pilot ejects and dies to fall, his plane explodes to ground before you get to finish it. FML take your losses like a man A2A wimps.

My lightning has speed chassis 3 for traversing the world super quick and the acceleration is amazing for dodging rockets etc. HE gun is still pretty decent after the big nerf, although the HEAT is a cheap alternative that allows you to actually use the lightning for other than armored travel.

Stealth is probably the best allround defense upgrade to stay off the radar and the token lock time for when you've already burnt your IR smoke.

MBT's I agree that the standard gun is better just because it'll allow you to not burn certs in that department. The rest is pretty down to the faction you play, and I don't play TR.

The Vulcan secondary is amazing in close quarters. It fires extremely fast, and rips through enemy armor like tissue paper. You can even down low flying aircraft with it. HEAT is fine on the prowler. Keep in mind that a two man tank will always beat a single man tank, all other things being equal.

Racer chassis seems like the all around best chassis upgrade. Higher top speed lets you flank and get in close, and the prowler excels in close range. As an added bonus, it'll also let you climb steeper hills.

Siege mode is highly situational. Don't get it until you've certed out most other aspects of your tank.

Don't get siege mode until they patch game so infantry is drawn as far as vehicles. Siege mode in tank vs tank is suicide.

Siege mode is fine, but if you use it in a bad spot, you're essentially a sitting duck. Flanking in prowlers is generally the better option, but siege mode does have its uses.
