Here are the specs I found on BF3Blog, not sure how reputable that is: + Show Spoiler +Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3
* OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7 * Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz * RAM: 2GB * Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card. * Graphics card memory: 512 MB * Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Recommended system requirements for Battlefield 3
* OS: Windows 7 64-bit * Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU * RAM: 4GB * Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850 * Graphics card memory: 1 GB * Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Though the alpha ran very well and seemed optimized, sure, not all of the settings were available to tweak and maybe some of the textures were of lower quality, but I can say you probably won't see worse performance than BC2.

Thanks for the specs Penecks, glad to know I'll be able to join in on the fun like most people!

That article is a brilliant reverse troll..
Look at his points. 5. I'm a noob so I should play cod 4. Cod will be smooth! (cos it's running a modded CoD 2 engine from 2005..not cutting edge at all) 3. Same point.. BF3 has awesome graphics but i want to settle for less 2. activison publicity? yeah because EA of all people are chumps at advertising.. has this guy just joined gaming or something. say to anyone "Ea Sports" and watch as you see them say in their head "It's in the game" 1. recognisability. really. BF is a huge series too, its been around over 10 years.
The problem with the internet is now anyone with a blog has their biased opinions taken as good journalism.
ps. my new PC arrives tommorow.. bring on BF3! and this coming from someone who lists the original CoD single player as one of his favourite SP campaigns of all time.

It seems that this year I'll be playing MW3 on friends' consoles and playing BF3 from my PC. That is, unless I see some major improvements from MW3, in which case I might buy it for 360 and still get BF3 on PC.

I only have a 5770 D:

those reccomended specs are fake, a 5770 will probably run the game fine on lower settings (though if the Alpha is any indication you will be CPU bottlenecked without a quad core)
|
Can I get an honest opinion(no fan boy replies please) is it worth it to spend XXXX amount of money to get a computer that can run BF3 on med/high when I mostly only would play that BW and CSS? I 'obtain' games sometimes but there rarely spec pushing(SF4 some RPGs)?
Thanks in advance

@Demize99 please tell me snipers can get up that tower. PLEASE. @RobCoxxy Indeed they can.
yesssss!

I wouldn't want to snipe from that tower. Way to obvious of a spot to be sniping from.

Thanks in advance You have to look at it value-wise. If the only thing you need an upgraded computer for is BF3, then I'd have to say no. However, if you value the longevity of your computer build, along with overall performance, and you can justify the investment, then yes. In other words, if you can set aside some money and upgrade your PC/build a new one, then it definitely couldn't hurt. But don't go mortgage the house so you can play BF3 on high graphics.

Thats why it is actually good that its destructible. All the idiots go there to snipe and think they are clever and all that shit.

I'd get in a tank, shoot at the tower, it falls down, enemy down.

1. C4 the foundation 2. ??? 3. Profit :D but a good thing, if you know you are going down, you can jump off and parachute away...
|
Btw I hope these structures won't be made out of matches. I hope it will take about 2-4 ppl's worth of C4 to bring it down all together, or we could get a counter of it's HP, so 1 person could work on destroying it throughout the entire match or something.
