How is the L96 broken compared to the other bolt-action sniper rifles? My guess is that the FOV in the scope for the L96 is bigger than the other guns.
LAVs have always been stronger than tanks with reactive armor, even pre-patch. You can disable one with the Cannon-ATGM-Cannon, while the tank has to hit against the Reactive armor, and then deal damage if the LAV doesn't maneuver.
Jets, I agree with totally because I'm getting killed from the sky more often now as Infantry, where before the patch, I would rarely get shot down by one. Even then, I'm getting Rocket Pod spammed a lot more than before.

Whenever I'm about to hit a jet, it just has smoke flashing around in small circles and then flies through. It's not flares, its just... smoke.

ECM stands for Electronic Counter-Measures, it jams the enemy's air radar and lock-on abilities for a short while. Unlike flares, you use it before you get locked on, not after. The last unlock, 35k points, pretty nifty.

When it's deployed, it appears as white, blinking smoke.

If anything, the effect has been toned down significantly compared to what would happen irl. The M98B is an anti-material rifle with an effective range of two kilometers. The gun is able to blast through the front of an army humvee and destroy the engine block in a single hit from thousands of meters away. It can punch through walls of solid concrete. If anything, in BF3 the m98B ought to be turning soldiers into a fine red mist at such close ranges. But I can live with 1 hit kill headshots and upper torso... Why would you say recon is for noobs on hardcore? It's one shot, if you miss you die. Other classes get fully automatic. You don't even need to aim, you just pray and spray. I don't consider my self good, but it's ridiculous to call the bolt action rifles noobish. With bolts, it's one-hit-kill literally anywhere on the body. No headshots needed. Combine that with no kill-cam to show where you're camping and no 3D spotting to notify your team of where snipers are, and recon playing on HC is a joke. If you miss, you don't die, because odds are you've taken the shot on a guy with an SMG from 300+ meters away who has no idea where you even are. Even at close range, you can get a 1-hit-kill hipfire... HIPFIRE ffs... that shouldn't happen with anything but a shotgun at pointe-blank range.
The same kills are easily accomplished with assault rifles. It's hardcore, anything is going to kill you in 2-3 shots. You also mentioned there is no kill cam. Again, it's hard core, if you shot someone from 300 meters away with sniper rifle, let alone an assault rifle, there is no kill cam. At a distance, assault rifle has an equal, if not, more of an advantage. When a sniper is scoped in, there is a bat signal emitting into the sky, while an assault rifle would remain unseen. You essentially get to know exactly where a recon player is, where as they have to find you. Saying the recon class is noobish, or imba any way is just plain silly. There is a reason not everyone plays recon. In my opinion, recon is by far the easiest class to kill. I get by best kill death ratios against a team made up of primarily recon. Assault rifles are just simply more effective for more kills.

So I just joined my first multiplayer game. Killed 3 or 4 people, after that I got spawn killed about 9-10 times in a row (no exaggeration) by 2 snipers in rocks.
Wtf?

One of the worst bf I have ever played. It is not even fun to play. People don't work together. I have to do everything on my own. People bm all the time. Well I'm glad I got this game for free after buying my processor. But I rather had the discount cause this game is not worth 1 cent.

The game is only fun if you play in a squad with friends over a VOIP (ventrilo, teamspeak etc) Playing by yourself sucks as you can achieve very little.

Thats never been the case! If you tank properly by using corners to hide behind its a massacre.

Listen up rocket junkies. If you are pissed about the jet counter measures do what I do.
PLAY HARDCORE.
The pilot is forced into 1st person view and it becomes much harder for them to time their jammers correctly. It's important to troll the pilot with the lock on signal before you launch your rocket.
A lot of times they use their jammers before you even fire and then the only way to dodge your rocket is with barrel rolls but then they are in 1st person and that becomes near impossible to time.
Another strategy I like is to jettison myself at a high altitude and then lock-on / take out aircraft as I float down.
GL and GG.
BF3 obviously better than MW3 since it's always higher up in the TL Games section :D

Don't expect any form of fair play in BF3. There are a few servers out there with very rigorous admins and strict rulesets, but they're rare and oftentimes either crowded or empty depending on the time you're playing. Everywhere else, vehicle stealing, base raping and other "fun" stuff is pretty much standard. Granted, it doesn't happen much up to the point where one team is struggling or pushed back to their main base, but if it does, you might as well just leave the match as it won't improve until the round ends in most cases.

Yeah, jets are broken. That's not ECM but the invulnerability module they got after the patch. 19/20 heat seekers you fire at jets will miss now, the pilot doesn't even have to deploy countermeasures. They just won't hit and detonate 10 or 20 meters behind it.

What ECM does is break lock and prevent locking for a few seconds. It does not however help evade missles

This small puff of smoke, which consists of small aluminum heated flakes, distracts missile if it flies into it. It takes a lot of awareness, skill and sometimes dumb luck to dodge missile that way as you have to time it perfectly and be aware where thy missile was shot from. It has to fly directly through this puff of smoke which last for few seconds.

I don't recall seeing an MW3 thread in this forum lol.
Although yeah I agree that the BF3 multi > MW3. MW3 has a pretty nice single player though.

I can dodge stingers at 100% post patch by using nothing at all (I fly flares, no ECM), nothing to do with dumbluck and ECM but everything to do with game sense and logic
idk where this rumour / myth comes from, but I think people just dodged a stinger a few times while using ECM so they attribute the dodge to ECM instead of them actually dodging the stinger with their maneuver
