This is on hardcore. All sniper rifles one shot for the most part on hard core. Also, assault rifles are usually 2 shot kill on hard core. | ||

I know, I was mostly explaining why the M98 is useful with Recon with a bolt-action rifle on either HC or regular. On HC, any bolt-action does OHKO within ~60m, which is what you'll be facing in a HC TDM game. Wouldn't a lower magnification scope be better in TDMs, as you wouldn't need to zoom far, and have the benefit of a faster scoping time? Though I guess you're used to that scope, and I can't criticize. | ||

But yeah, I run the 12x scope, I just feel it's more accurate at any range. If you are quick scoping, the bigger zoom isn't a big problem close range. I also use a red laser which does seem to help no scope. I'm pretty decent at no scoping with out it though, so I'm not sure if it helps or not. Also, I am really bored today. I made another! I was messing around with the slow motion effect, and this is the result. | ||

IMO people who play recon on hardcore are probably the biggest noobs out there, but I won't get into that... As an actual rifle, it doesn't surprise me that it does what it does in game. If anything, the effect has been toned down significantly compared to what would happen irl. The M98B is an anti-material rifle with an effective range of two kilometers. The gun is able to blast through the front of an army humvee and destroy the engine block in a single hit from thousands of meters away. It can punch through walls of solid concrete. If anything, in BF3 the m98B ought to be turning soldiers into a fine red mist at such close ranges. But I can live with 1 hit kill headshots and upper torso... | ||

Keeping a W/L of 4 is tough when you try to PTFO and rely on idiotic teammates on Conquest/Rush. Why would you say recon is for noobs on hardcore? It's one shot, if you miss you die. Other classes get fully automatic. You don't even need to aim, you just pray and spray. I don't consider my self good, but it's ridiculous to call the bolt action rifles noobish. | ||
