From someone who has played the series since daggerfall, I think this game looks fantastic. And not just by comparison to itself, compared to other games as well. I don't recall any fully open sandbox world look as good as skyrim, console or PC. The only legitimate concern i have is for it being 32-bit only. And hopefully the PC version has pretty good graphics options, and not a tiny console "low, high" setting. Oh yeah. Im Super hyped! and heck, im getting the console version, and Im just as stoked for it =). Im looking forward to really good graphics . . . on the console. Bash me all you want, but im sure ill be enthralled. Counting down the days, and so glad I have a free weekend so that I only have to leave my xbox to eat =) and even then im probablly still gonna be playing XD

I dunno if my graphics card can handle the game, so i think ill play it safe with the 360 version. Regardless im super hyped for the game, both morrowind and oblivion are some of my fav games ever.

Expect better quality in the retail xbox version let alone the pc one . The chicken in question didn't report a crime. It was attacked in the presence of NPCs.

I feel like just exploring the world without decent preparation like i did when i was too young to fully understand the game. ![]() What should i roll? I feel like being a Nord in ''honor'' of the upcoming TES: Skyrim is a bit cliche and i already did it with oblivion. Shoot me with a suggestion because i can't think of anything! You should roll a character that most likely reflects yourself (ex: normally a neutralish guy doing w/e the fuck he thinks is best for him or society...well I don't know you, but you get the point) imo. It makes the quests seem a little more personalized and realistic because you're choosing, not saying "Oh, I'm an honorable knight. I need to do this." I would save the strict RP'ing rules for other characters, but not your first.

You'd have to play through Morrowind to understand why TES games aren't exactly a single player World of Warcraft. I'd go as far as to say WoW isn't a 'giant open world fantasy game,' and is in fact quite narrow relatively.

It funnels you down tight paths through the zones and you can't go around wreaking havoc or taking up quests wherever you please. It still has the exploration, but the quest paths are very linear (even at 85).

How would you suggest going about it in terms of combat though? For instance, if I am one not that likes fighting (irl, i love in game fighting =P), would that make me more of an assassin type character, or one that focuses largely on speech and other skills? I might have to try it out for my first! So many good options, that i don't know if Ill ever come down to a set one!

You could use stealth to avoid combat when possible, most of the fighting in Elder scrolls just occurs in transit between two points. There are also ways of fighting without direct participation, such as using spells to turn enemies against each other or summon allies.

I tried Deus Ex and Rage recently on my Xbox and the graphics for those two games were much much better than Skyrim. Also, playing Witcher 2 and Rift with ultra settings on my pc definitely did not help, as it just made Skyrim look like crap. Once again, this is the xbox version (which is less than 4 gigs). It played exactly like Oblivion, looked exactly like Oblivion, and I could swear I was playing Oblivion. So, if you liked Oblivion, I imagine you'll love Skyrim. I realize I did not play very long... so, I'd take my review with a grain of salt. I'd highly recommend trying a demo or something before investing your hard earned dollars in this game. I intentionally got it for my jtag to see if I might like it or not, and if I did, I would purchase it for the PC. I will not be purchasing it or playing it further. tldr; if you liked Oblivion, you'll like Skyrim. If you're expecting a new and amazing game like no other, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Honest question, to people like you, are graphics like these apparently "awful" to you? I've watched that 20 minute demo at least 5 times and every time I am literally awed by how beautiful it looks. And apparently the footage was from ~12 months ago? Correct me if I'm wrong but it's also on 360 graphics. Am I wrong and the game somehow manages to look like this: ![]() Or are people honestly just being stuck up little pricks? Maybe I should just avoid this thread and any discussion about video games (Other than sc2 lulz) ever if what I suspect is true.

I might have to try it out for my first! So many good options, that i don't know if Ill ever come down to a set one! Well, I think of the general playstyle I want to play, then I start thinking of the role-playing aspect. It is a game after all. And the playstyle you want to play could fit any personality. There are noble warriors, evil warriors, good thieves, bad thieves, ect. I said I want to be a Stealth-based character. Then I made a little character bio in my head and I will use that to decide choices in quests. Will I kill the spy right now or follow him longer? Will I spare the traitor or kill him? ect. ect. With that bio, I will nitpick on what perks I want to get. ex: My personal character won't be a ruthless killer, so I'll go for the Sneak perks that lower my chance of getting detected rather than getting 15x damage on a dagger. Also when it comes to choices of killing. try to put yourself in that character's position. Of course you don't go around fucking people up every day in real life, but you don't really need to in today's society. So put yourself into the Elder Scrolls universe (Dark Ages type stuff). Killing people isn't as big of a deal. They do capital punishment all day 'err day. So don't make it the world's first problem everytime someone may have to die. And in the grand scheme of things, when your ultimate goal is to kill dragons or save the city from politcal corruption or whatever, killing pawns might not be a big deal....unless you're an extremely empathetic person. Basically every time you have a choice in a quest, ask, "What would I do in this situation."
