Don't judge the game graphically based on it's Xbox 360 performance. It's a big, open-world game -- good luck getting it to look any better than it does on the 360's outdated hardware.
The size of the game doesn't mean much -- there will be texture mods galore for the PC before long, if you really want that 'super-hi-res' look. And we don't even know what the vanilla PC textures look liked, turned all the way up.
That being said, I'm honestly quite worried that the game will lack of the depth that it needs. Oblivion was disappointing in almost every way, aside from a few cool quests and the graphics / terrain, and I feel as though Skyrim will follow suit.
Sucks, because Morrowind was brilliant. I wish Bethesda would re-visit that level of open-world gameplay.

I'm still fucking taken back by the fact that CHRISTOPHER MOTHERFUCKING PLUMMING is voice acting in this game.
Holy shit I am hyped so much.

watched some gameplay just then.
and a guy killed a chicken,,,,THEN THE WHOLE WORLD WAS HUNTING HIM.
I mean even the guards from another town went and KILLED HIM.
didnt bethesda say that crimes in one town dont carry across to the other???
and how the hell is killing a chicken a crime in the first place.
unless its a delibrate parody from Zelda games and their chickens.......still wtf bethesda.
either way looking forward to it on PC, no way i can manage looking at the xbox 360 version for longer then an hour T.T
just have to wait till after exams before i can get it (17th) even longer wait for me T.T

The more I look at the Block skill tree the more I love it. That is going to be an amazingly fun build. Still unsure if I prefer Axe, Mace or Sword. I like swords and maces aesthetically but I like the Axe upgrade better. Decisions, decisions.

Took me ~5 minutes to download, max.
Stealing things and posting things about it is bad mmkay.

I almost responded to that seriously, too
But yeah, this soundtrack is the sex. I'm still listening to this shit. Jeremy Soule is da man.

What is with this thread?
Am I the only one who thinks this game looks amazing? From someone who has played the series since daggerfall, I think this game looks fantastic. And not just by comparison to itself, compared to other games as well. I don't recall any fully open sandbox world look as good as skyrim, console or PC.
The only legitimate concern i have is for it being 32-bit only. And hopefully the PC version has pretty good graphics options, and not a tiny console "low, high" setting.

Fallout 3 and its spin offs etc, basically everything recently by Bethseda on the PC has fairly robust graphic options so I would say its a safe bet. As far as it looking crappy I think people are judging the xbox version? Not sure honestly as I dont own console games that release for the PC

I'm sure it's great man, and TBH I should have no right calling you out for pirating stuff (I do it too much), but its not a conversation for TL

Hey everyone, would you consider watching me stream Skyrim? I have the capability to do so, and I wouldn't mind. I don't wanna stream it if there would only be ~5 people watching, though. I'd keep it ad-free as well. Would anyone be interested if I started streaming Friday release night for about 5 days? I wouldn't be able to stream past the17th, though, due to plans I have.
Any takers?

From what I've seen from it so far (watched I guess about 3 or 4 hours of streaming footage of it) it looks like Oblivion with only really minor improvements in graphics (a few more polygons here, more shiny there), which shouldn't be a surprise, since it's running on the same engine, is developed for the same target systems (PS3 and 360), and was largely developed by the same core people who worked on Oblivion. That is of course only a statement about the graphics, which (imo) is the least important thing in a game (gameplay>sound>aesthetics>graphics). The aesthetics of the game actually look pretty nice. I like the darker color toning a lot more, although this might be a side effect of the bad stream quality. Either way, the skin of Orcs doesn't have a puke-y color anymore, which is a plus Oblivion just shined too much, probably because blooming was overused. Even in dark dungeons, the brown walls would shine like chocolate topping I thought the engine was completely new? At least that's what the developer states in the 3 part demo video on the Bethesda blog. He also states the engine is better looking and faster running than that of Oblivion (whatever that means).
It's not completely new. Bethesda didn't write it from scratch. They took their own internal version of the gamebryo engine and went from there.
Whether it's completely new or not isn't a big deal though. Half-Life 2's source engine still contained bits of code from the original quake engine in it after all.

the only important graphic thing for me was that they improved the character desgins and the spells. BEcause in Oblivion both were pretty bad. From what I saw from screenshots so far they did improve in those fields so graphics wise I am happy.

That proves the version is a beta.
Bestheda said they had this wired bug with chickens reporting crimes then the guards were hunting you down.
Expect better quality in the retail xbox version let alone the pc one .
