If so, is he just your standard blacksmith merchant, or does he have something notable about him? And where do the other merchants show up?
They all show up in the Ragged Flagon.

I seem to have hit the end of "to do list" of Skyrim for now on my main charecter.
I have done. + Show Spoiler +-Mage college quests -Bard college quests -Thiefs quild quests -assassins quild quests -companions quests -got 7 of the 8 dragon priests masks, last one remaining comes apparently at the end of the questline. -Got Thane rank everywhere. -Got a home fully decorated in every city. -got married. -Gotten every Daedric artifact. -combined the Guldur amulet. -Won the war for stormcloaks.
Playing kind of a mage kind of charecter with maxed out Illusion, Destruction, Alteration and Conjuration with full dragonscale armor. Also aldready maxed all crafting skills and crafted a gear with 5 pieces of 29% + alchemy and 3 pieces +29% smithing. +184% destruction potions with free cast thunderbolt kills ancient dragon with 3 hits as well as staggers it immobile -.-

talk to them and there will be a dialog option. not every merchant can be invested with, for example eorlund gray-mane you can't invest with.

Hmm ok, that's what I was trying. Turns out the three vendors in the center of Riften can't be invested in either. The good news, though, is that the fence perk is bugged and allows me to sell stolen items to any vendor.

Perhaps someone of us can give you her character code and there might be some sort of command in the chat to make her appera where you are, enabling and disabling her won't actually spawn her where you are i'm quite sure, try to search if there's a chat command to let her spawn back to where you are or at least in her default location?

Kill/murder every single non-essential/non-respawning NPC in the game?

Get the last dragon priest mask, or play again but on master.

I don't understand the playthrough everything on 1 character mentality. I generally hate single player games but Skyrim has really opened my eyes and I've very much enjoyed the game. What I've done is with my first character I made a rather nobelish nord who uses dual wield swords, heavy armor and generally helps people and slays the bad guys. I didn't think it made sense for him to join the mage guild, the theives or the dark brotherhood but I did join up and now lead the companions. I generally travel from town to town doing quests to get thane and I'm very close to finishing the main quest line with him.
My second character is evil, he's an argonian that uses sneak, archery and illusion magic. He's an asshole, he kills, he joined the thieves and the dark brotherhood and anyone who crosses him dies. I won't be joining the mage guild or the companions and I'm already lv44 on this character and he hasn't even visited the graybeards. This character doesn't care much for the dragons (other than to become more powerful) or the petty problems of Skyrim's people.
My third character (I haven't started yet) is going to be likely a dark elf conjurer. He will be slightly twisted but not an outright killer like my argonian. I will do the mage guild quests and likely join the Imperials on this character. I plan to not 'exploit' blacksmithing on this account. My Argonian and Nord are straight up broken having 'exploited' alchemy/enchanting/blacksmithing. I play the game on master but it might as well be adept. This character will break that cycle. I'm only going to level enchanting for a longgggg time.
Anyway that's my thoughts.. I didn't feel it made sense to become invested in 1 character and do it all. I wanted each character to have their own flair/uniqueness and it really adds a lot of variety and replayability this way.

Going Altmer Mage-type, focusing on Destruction, Conjuration and Restoration. Secondary focuses will be enchanting, alchemy, alteration. No weapon skills, no armor skills. Wizard Robes and maybe a staff My characters tend to nest in a specific Hold, and I try to do all the missions and dungeons in the surrounding area. No Fast Travel except for the horse and carriage. Anyone want to pitch some ideas or suggestions for this guy? My first character was a Nord Sword and Board warrior based out of Whiterun (Level 42) and my 2nd character was a thief/assassin build based out of Riften (level 27). Not that I was bored with my characters, I just need the occaisional change of pace :D Honestly with Destro/Conjuration you will never need resto. I wouldn't put a single point into it, as impact and your aggro-magnet pets will let you never get hit (lvl 50 pure mage). You actually don't even really need alteration at all either, for the same reasons. Yeah, Alteration and Restoration are really more for me wanting to use those trees
These are both legit trees for a mage too. Alteration is a viable alternative to an armor tree, or the could just skip the perk that requires no armor and enchant the best heavy armor you find. Atronach magicka absorb and spell damage reduction make you invincible mage vs mage (master necros/vampires/dragon priests/etc).
Restoration also has plenty of viable perks like passive regen, bonus damage to undead and stam regen while healing so you never have to put levels into stam. My mage still has base stamina and practically no magicka regen on gear due to restoration perks (and enchanting giving me free conjuration and destruction spells).

Yep, Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic! And let nobody tell you something else!
God that woman is so annoying. Also, she keeps messing up the subtitles of the people I actually want to talk to.

Any one playing night blades? I seem to find that everyone is under the impression that the are no ways to stack the sneak attack bonus with magic. I got the bound sword bonus damage with sneak attacks for decent throat slash which, might I add is pretty satisfying to suddenly appear out of a smokey flash just as the blade starts into the neck. illusion is pretty fun with the silent casting, invisibility and crowd control/ally buffs.
