That's really rough though, no other area is confined like it. Its funny where you come out from some of the elevators on the world map compared to where you went in though. I would recommend doing the red nirnroot quest down there just to force you to explore. It's so pretty O.O It is main quest, but didn't take me that long to get there. I was losing interest a bit in the game, but the main quest really brought me back into it. At level 55 it should be an absolute breeze too. Lots of those blind elf monstrosity things, but with sneaking and a dagger you can kill them in one hit (I play on adept I think?) http://imgur.com/aBxtz It's quite big On December 13 2011 08:13 Torte de Lini wrote: Any way possible to have Skyrim keep playing or going forward after I alt-tab? My question is: it seems like my spells do NO damage to anything above first level mobs. I.E. I can kill a skeleton in 1 hit with any of my spells, but when I fight something like a Restless Draugr, it takes like 2 bars of my mana to kill it if I'm just using spells. How can I make them do more damage ?? O_O! Also, do enchantments improve if you level your enchanting ability? I've held off enchanting my items because I don't wanna enchant something at like 10% magicka regen how it is now (will it go up when I lvl my enchanting)?

Well unless you mix in alchemy that has the +XX% destruction potions or poisons that make enemies more vulnerable. and yes the higher your skill in enchanting (+ the perks, 5 in the first tier for +100% iirc) the better the enchantment. The size of a soul you use also dictates how strong enchantment you can make.

As in, going from 65 --> 100 would give him a significant increase in damage

Leveling the skill only reduces mana cost of spells and even that very slightly. Only thing that increases damage spells do is the perks in destro, the bugged perk Aspect of Terror in Illusion tree that ~doubles fire spell damage (mby fixed after 1.1, wouldn't know, not using bug shit patches before they come up with stable stuff) and alchemy. You can reduce spell costs to 0 with enchanting, kinda cheesy. Spell damage doesn't scale. Mods for the rescue in the future I hope. Where as physical damage, be it bow or weapons, scale with skill level, perks, better quality gear, enchants, alchemy, smithing and ofcourse the biggest modifier of them all, sneak.

Aspect of Terror adds a flat 10 damage to all fire spells. So it more than doubles the damage of flames, and makes that spell pretty ridiculous early on, but it doesn't help higher level fire spells all that much.

I was enjoying all "this game is too easy" posts from people who were trying to min/max the combat system in a singleplayer game (lol) designed primarily for the hardcore roleplayer. This game is about maxing out your "role" as a khajiit mage-thief, not you damage as a khajiit mage-thief (and get subtly trolled by J'Zargo along the way). There is no endgame, random dungeons are about on par with the final dungeons of any quest line. Honestly the hardest levels seem to be 20-30 as your perk combos can't be super abusive yet (unless you just rush crafting or sneak).

The first to be fixed should be the Dragons. They are actually amongst the weaker ladder in the food chain.

I'm lvl 40 now and I've maxed smithing (100) and 1-handed weapons (100). my light / heavy armor / enchanting / destruction are all around lvl 65 . My question is: it seems like my spells do NO damage to anything above first level mobs. I.E. I've held off enchanting my items because I don't wanna enchant something at like 10% magicka regen how it is now (will it go up when I lvl my enchanting)? 2 problems combined: 1) spells don't scale at all. Yes there are some higher level spells if your skill levels which do a bit more damage, but compared to the scaling of weapons it's a drop in the ocean. 2) you are switching into a new skill when the mobs have leveled. Yes it's not as bad as it was in oblivion, but the spell you are most likely using (fireball or flamebolt i presume, or some equivalent in frost or lighting) simply isn't meant to be shot at lvl 40 mobs. Only the expert level spells do somewhat decent damage at that level (and as mentioned above they also suck compared to weapons). There is already a mod called better destro spell scaling around. I'd highly recommend it if you truly want to play a mage.
