I have a legendary ebony bow with my best frost damage enchantment, and my bound bow (with mystic perk) does more damage. Additionally it summons 100 arrows everytime you cast it, so you never run out, so you're always using bow instead of running away or using a sword or something once you run out. Also getting equipment with +archery helps a lot. It also forces to you level Conjuration and asks for lot of magicka and extra perks to put into conjuration. You can probably have similar effect by putting these points into combat skills. When you attack with the summoned bow does it level archery or conjuration?

will increasing the enchanment perks such as +fire damage% affect existing enchantments or only new enchantments eg. sword does +10 fire damange already. increase perk will increase that fire damage so i don't need to craft/enchant another sword to achieve the new perk

Now he's gonna eradicate the Dark Brotherhood after one too many contracts being put out on his do-gooder self. Not sure what to do after that, I don't think joining either side of the War fits in with the character of the leader of the Companions... although joining the Empire would make more sense for the leader of a guild based in Whiterun that contains non-Nord characters. This game is much more fun when you do things that the character would do, rather than trying to do everything the game has to offer! Also, if you leave quests out you can always make them with a new character and get a completely new experience.

But yeah, if you're actually building an archer, I can't imagine you not buying up all the current and previous tier of arrows and using Iron and Steel for general purpose and only switch to the better ones on fights that count. and arrow recovery doesn't 100% work. there are times where i shot 2 arrows into a guy, i recover 1. sometimes i shoot 1 and i recover 0. so i'd say 2/3's of the time i end up with a net loss of arrows and i've pretty much never observed a time where i would shoot 1 arrow and get back >1 arrow, unless i'm somehow misinterpreting the perk's function. Keep in mind that only whiterun guards attack you. to clarify you lose skill progress. if you have 30 points in sneak for example, you don't lose that, but you lose any progress you have between 30->31. and a way to get reduced fines is to + Show Spoiler + do the thieves guild sidequest line

Weapons flying around faster than u can see and enemies popping up in front of your view and going down instantly. Sometimes I just ran in camps to aggro all that shit then shouted EF and spinned around clicking mindlessly, looting the ring of corpses afterwards. Alduin was wtf too, didnt even breathe on me once because I stood sideways of him when he landed - he managed to turn halfways before being killed. Honestly it just feels like running around as an industrial shredding machine and I didnt even abuse shit like alch and enchanting synergy. Played the 45 destro mage of a friend and while still powerful, its nowhere near the comical level a dual wield/EF warrior is.

Oddly enough, the hardest time I had in this game was when I was a sword and board character (my other characters being a sneak/illusion thief, destruction mage, and the easiest character an Elementary Fury/Berserker Rage abusing 2H character). However, it does get significantly easier once you bump up block to get power bash. It's usually the Bandit Chiefs power attacks that hurt really bad. Power bashing cancels their power attack. NPC mages however... good luck with that. Especially frost mages. Not to mention all mages can fire dual bolts at you at the rate of a machine gun. Now that's rage inducing. Sword and board character: I find that a defensive play style, although fun, is inferior to a style where you kill things before they can even land a single hit on you. You do not need the power bash perk to cancel power attacks: the regular bash does the job. Swap in some resistance gears against mages. Necklace, rings, and elven resist gears weight next to nothing and help a lot. Use resistance potion for dragonpriests. But Bound Bow is one of the cooler things in skyrim (legendary daedric items makes the game boring imo), Conjuration summons can fight very well.

I use legendary Glass Greatsword with my lvl 43 Mage with only 25 in two handed weapons) and kill stuff fast, I don't need daedric stuff :D As for summons, if you let them kill stuff you are not killing them with the bow. I though that was the point.

Bethesda said the fix should be released for PC sometime this week. As for the resists, magic should include all types. However, they all have a soft cap and you can benefit from both one after another. Magic is the hardes to get high enough early on compared to the other 2. Magic resist will allow you to resist spells that aren't damage related (ie slow) not only damage ones. That being said, you are better off killing things real fast rather than resisting their attacks. I still believe in the motto "a good offense is a good defense".
