uesp has been reporting the armor cap is 576. 100 armor is actually a huge difference imo
have you (or anyone in this thread) done any testing on this on your own? presently my armor value is only around 350 without a shield, so i still have a long way to go before i can hit the armor cap

the potion effect should be spread over a longer period of time, like 15-20s for the full potion to take effect. you shouldn't be able to pause the game by pulling up your quick menu and spam potion after potion and get your full health back in 2s.
Most of the game can be balanced by the player. Health Pots too powerful? Don't use them, use Draughts of Regeneration and bingo!
Balancing a game is not the player's job.
Weirdly, this site is all about a game that was balanced by players. ( Brood war )
Brood War was not balanced in the sense that he was talking about. He was saying that if you don't want something to be in the game that you should just not use it. Brood War was balanced through the evolution of the meta game. I don't believe that all of the players just sat around at a table and unanimously agreed to just stop using one unit.

They didn't balance it by not using units because they were too good.

yeah, but the goal of starcraft is to smash someone's teeth in electronically
in an elder scrolls game the only person involved is you, so if you find any particular ability makes the game too easy, then just don't use it
oblivion had things like chameleon and weakness to magic which completely trivialized the game
just because you can make an invulnerability suit doesn't mean you have to do it
i think it's totally fine. if you want to break the game the option is right there for you, and personally i don't think that healing potions are that broken, you can easily use 10-20 in the span of 1 fight, and they're really heavy in this game

Sorry if you misunderstood me, but I totally agree about the point made about Skyrim since it's a single player game. I was directly commenting about what he said about Brood War. Sorry for any confusion.
if they were to change the health potions, they'd have to balance other aspects unless they think everyone should heavily use Restoration. I literally cannot survive any semi-difficult multi-mob fight without health potions on my dual wielding stealth character.
beths blog says creation kit in jan and there is going to be another patch next week (lol), also says they are working on integrating a "workshop" with steam,
"The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smartphone. Like a live Netflix queue, when you fire up Skyrim, mods you flagged will be automatically downloaded and installed. Everyone here is really excited about the opportunities and possibilities this opens up for our entire community."
glad they have their priorities straight instead of fixing the over 500+ bugs listed on their forums.

I'd rather have the creation kit than bug fixes. You can console to fix any situation anyways. The whole magic resist not working is a little absurd, but I'm assuming they'll be fixing that in the patch.

Mods are what make Elder Scrolls worth playing.
Sorry that I don't share your enthusiasm, but I don't buy games to play mr. amateur programmer and half-heartedly try and fix them myself without the proper tools. The console can only solve a very small number of issues.
Some of these 500+ bugs are what caused me to stop playing the PS3 version, (no, I don't have a PC capable of running the game so don't be smart and try and direct me to Steam) so I think it should be in there interest to fix these before releasing creation kit.

not sure if serious, have you seen the list of bugs? Using console to fix some npc/no clip through world can only fix a very small amount of all the bugs plus what about console players. and its seriously immersion breaking when I am doing the last thief guild quest when I enter and find the enemies are a bit tough so i exit to purchase more potions and then having to no clip through a wall on return because the wall is permanently closed if you leave after entering it first without completing the quest.
Sorry that you bought the game on the wrong platform. The construction set hasn't been released on consoles before anyways so unless something is changing you'll get your bug fixes before you get the construction set anyways unless they never fix all your bugs.
If you wanted a bug free game you shouldn't have bought it in the first place though. I haven't actually played Arena or Daggerfall, but Morrowind and Oblivion were extremely buggy on release so I just expected Skyrim to be the same way. If you expected otherwise then you were misinformed.

And so far i must say that magic was easy (kiting ftw), bow is just unfair for the pc (stealth system is broken?) but one handed with shield is pretty fun, the things you can do with the shield just gives a new dynamic (for example when you block a power attack the time slows down and you out move your opponent). Plus blocking 3 enemies and attacking on masters diffuculty is actually hard to pull off. I think i have recorded over 130 hours so far and I'm still enjoying every moment of the game, crash free so far <knock knock>
So if you are bored with kiting everything and not getting hit like ever, try picking up a shield and dont use range attacks!
I get hit often while kiting. In dungeons between Lydia, summons and tight corridors (and kiting by just moving backwards so I can still cast spells) Melee enemies hit me fairly often.
On open areas (outside) some enemies like Bears are really fast and tend to hit me on occasion.
I dont know how u can get hit if you are 1vs1 agaisnt any kind of enemy as a prue mage. Double fireball is really quick to cast and 1 out of 2 shoot, it stun them.. Even work on bear or dragon. My companion is mostly only a item carrier and if I have 3-4 enemy, i summon someone (dont remember his name, the crazy black knight).
and im just lvl 24 (75 in destruction)
Tight dungeons, Lydia or summon blocking my retreat. Dungeon bosses hit hard.
Outside a bear can come to you before you notice them. Wolves do this to me all the time in forests but they don't hit hard. It is much easier to notice these opponents on open fields or icy areas.
If you're an alchemist, you can 50% slow for 147 seconds if you have a full set of 29% alchemy gear (including circlet + falmer helmet). Just whip out a bound bow and keep a small number of iron arrows around for this purpose. Also 29 second paralysis ftmfw. Oh, and -88% resist for element of choice and -59% magic resist poisons, and +188% potions of fortify destruction trolololololool.
Bugs? I've played the game for 50 hours and encountered 1; the usual Esbern bug to which there are many fixes. Not sure what y'all are doing that I am not.
Performance issues? I have a 1 year old cheap stationary PC, the game runs just fine IMO.
Oh well, back to Blackreach! (Quite possibly the creepiest place in the game)

Probe1 might've been wrong calling the other guy pretentious, but the word works well for you.
Different games react differently to different hardware configurations. Just because yours works well with the game doesn't mean others that report different results are doing something that you're not.
There are a million (literally) triggers to certain bugs/crashes/ctds and each is unique.

Therefore, fuck off.
Oh no! Someone got mad at me on the internet!
Just wanted to point out how different these experiences can be. It's a shame that a game that works well for some completely fails for others.

Personally I haven't got that many bugs myself. Except the fact that after the patches I CTD within 10 mins, thankfully I started using the 4gb LAA patch, now playing with FXAA injector mod + tons of high res texture mods w/o crashing. But just because I am doing fine doesn't mean other people are, as clearly demonstrated on the forums.

If that was your intent, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have broken out the proverbial thesaurus on your other post and worded the entire thing to be literally as condescending as the English Language allows. Just saying.
And one doesn't need to be angry with another to call that person out on being a prick and telling him to fuck off. Facts are facts, the presentation of said facts aren't linked to any attitudes for or against said facts.

Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age, long ago, and the tale, boldly told, of the one!
Who was kin to both wyrm, and the races of man, with a power to rival the sun! And the Voice, he did wield, on that glorious field, when great Tamriel shuddered with war!
Mighty Thu'um, like a blade, cut through enemies all, as the Dragonborn issued his roar!
And the scrolls have fortold of black wings in the cold that when brothers wage war come unfurled Alduin bane of kings ancient shadow unbound with a hunger to swallow the world
But a day, shall arise, when the dark dragon's lies, will be silenced forever and then! Fair Skyrim will be free from foul Alduin's maw, Dragonborn be the savior of men!
*Repeat the first verse.
Some parts are sung quite quietly so it kinda hard to hear.
Fun fact: You can sing the song in both Draconic and English and the song would still sound perfect!
