the potion effect should be spread over a longer period of time, like 15-20s for the full potion to take effect. you shouldn't be able to pause the game by pulling up your quick menu and spam potion after potion and get your full health back in 2s.
Most of the game can be balanced by the player. Health Pots too powerful? Don't use them, use Draughts of Regeneration and bingo!

I just realised my character was equal parts archer, one handed+shield and mage. Maybe I should actually assume a role next time.

Is it just me or do expert destruction spells cost way too much? I assume that I absolutely must get fortify destruction enchantments to really use them.

Also magic resistance affects everybody including you, so if you're one of those guys who love your 70+ magic resistance, you are FUCKED Yup, just discovered this this morning. Walked into a cave, saw a master necromancer, and he blasted me with some blizzard spell or whatever. I died in one hit in spite of having 90 magic resist.
Not going anywhere near the game until that gets fixed. Don't know how on earth Bethesda fucked up so bad.

magicka resist doesn't work on elemental spells, it works when resisting stuff like fear and paralyze and such afaik.

Leveling pickpocket is such a joke, it took me an hour to go from 20 to 100 with the boots from the thieves guild and a ring i had found randomly.

I thought the only difference was that you could get a higher % of a single element. In any case, magicka absorb does affect elemental spells. (atronach 50% absorb + daily breton ability = immune vs casters).

Even after hitting 100 and perking out I still can't stop. I'm a bit of a skyrim klepto. If everyone in the Hall isn't naked and I'm slowboating out the door, encumbered by all their stuff then I'm not happy.

How much does armor go up by when you upgrade it? I made my steel armor epic and I want to compare it to Dwarven armor, but the stupid thing is epic, so I don't know if it's better than Dwarven is if I upgrade Dwarven (I'm not in town right now/can't carry everything)

That actually sounds extremely fun :O
Should I strip naked when I try leveling pickpocketing later? Been playing as a heavy armor user.
I'm so ignorant about the TES mechanics TT

I don't think armor makes pickpocketing harder? I don't know about that one. But basically all you have to do is steal things that have a 90% chance of success.

Wearing heavy armor increases the chances of being caught.

resist magic works against all magic, but has a lower magnitude, and presently it's 100% confirmed to be bugged
a breton isn't immune to magic with his greater power, either 50% chance you absorb the spell then if the spell hits you, 25% damage resist, not 50%
the individual resist element effects work a lot better for comparable "cost", be it the level of the enchant or your alchemy skill

Daedra > Dragon > Ebony > Steel Plate = Orc > Dwarf > Steel > Iron
there you go.

Difficulty becomes null as soon as you bring along resistance gear with you: Fire/Frost/Shock resistance neck/elven boots are pretty common in stores and they are close to weightless. Pop a resistance potion to help even more.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing
With the appropriate perk, values continue to increase at the rate of about +0.2 per skill point for Armor, and +0.1 for other items.
Because of how armor upgrade works, the less points you spend in smithing the better of a deal you get. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1289727-2419-armor-6399-damage-using-smithing-alchemy-enchanting-only-33-perks-329k-backstabs-post-4/ there is an armor cap of 672 armor.

Weirdly, this site is all about a game that was balanced by players. ( Brood war )
