Also, asking this for maybe a millionth time but does nobody know if the stuff in Arch-Mage Quarters respawn? When you kill dragons you get their souls (the amount you have is in the bottom right corner when in the shout section). You then spend a soul to unlock a shout (push R if using PC). As for the Arch-Mage quarters, yes it respawns. Dunno how long. Wouldn't be suprised if it is 30days like mines though. OMG Thank you SO much!!! I'm level 25 and had absolutely no idea about that... And I would probably never have guessed without someone asking the question... That's so important in the game, why is that written like nowhere? Anyway, cannot wait for tonight after work to try my new shouts
It's only written in the "Shouts" section, but why look there if you want to use a Shout..

I had no idea you could just take their stuff when i had him as a companion. However, i saw him having a cool bow and i was like, i want that, so i took him into an empty house and killed him for his stuff. i could've just asked for it ahahahahaha 'i regret to murdered him. i just could have asked him all his stuff for free ...' Btw double hand magic lightning is the best. I only have multiple lightning but when you kill one, he touchs the floor 20meters away :D

I don't know if you noticed but the main reward is actually an active effect you get, which is really not bad.
+ Show Spoiler +Somethingorother's serendipity which gives 25% chance to create a duplicate potion when using alchemy.

Yeah but alchemy blows. I haven't made one potion all game - just used what i've found lying around

yeah and you can harvest around 10 nirnroot from her garden now and then ... quite an awesome quest IMO

I didn't actively hunt down bears for her but as I traveled around I would run into them and store their pelts in my house until I got 10

Yeah sure, written super small in a corner... So obvious... And there's no reason for me to specifically look there because it does not make sense from a role play point of view. It was obvious for me that those new shouts had something to do with the training from the grey beards. They should explain it to you when you visit them.

Health/mana/stamina potions, the obvious thing. Invisibility potion when you're about to die is so incredibly useful. Everybody should carry an invis potion at all times imho. Fortify smithing or enchanting when you're about use those skills. Boosts the effect by quite a lot. Resistance potions when you're facing dragons or hard monsters. Damage health poisons on your weapon is awesome and really cheap to make. Especially on dual wield. Paralyze/slow potions when you're facing extra hard enemies. Cure disease potions are useful when fighting vampires/wild animals with diseases. Put frenzy potion on people with pickpocket is an awesomely fun way of killing people in towns without getting caught. If you are a destruction mage, use weakness to element poisons on your bow and fire a shot before attacking, it does the world of difference.

urrite it's not like alchemy is the easiest way to make money, nor is it necessary to utilize smithing / enchanting to their full potential and actually get gear that doesnt suck

My invis potions don't seem to work, I get aggro'd regardless. And the only shouts I find useful are the freeze and unrelenting force, which have essentially the same effect.

The best thing is that there are very few quest rewards worth getting in a game like Skyrim, you can pretty much make better everything yourself than what a quest giver can give you Gold? I shit gold Gear? Do not make me laugh Unique spells, shouts, fancy horse and cutesty gear like Azura`s star is pretty much all the awards actually worth something. Oh and active effects I guess.

I am totally annoyed that I have bought a console game for the PC ... Sure it said "PC" on the box and runs just fine, but the controls are totally designed with "console" in mind. Even really old games allow for more spells to be memorized simultaneously and this "time-out to change my mouse1 and mouse2 spells" is annoying. HUGE minus for this and it would have been a reason not to buy it (just like the "only 2 guns at a time" in Duke Nukem Forever). *sigh*
There are sooo many options / spells / skills in the game, but that UI is putting the players in a straightjacket.

On the upside, the PC version can be modded and you'll likely see mods to fix bugs and enhance gameplay experience.

Dude you can bind anything you want to use frequently on numbers... just open favorite menu, highlight spell/weapon/anything you want to bind and press corresponding number. Press that nimber 1 time --> 1 handed; 2 times ---> 2 hand (if possible)
