God damn, nothing is more satisfying than taking two arrows in the shield and sprint-bashing someone with your shield.
Hopefully I can reach a point where a single power attack doesn't take up 90% of my stamina though =/
warrior is fun. especially epic duels with worthy enemies. AI blocks and dodges and powerattacks and shieldbashes quite well.
I'm at dragons reach calling odahviing to fight, but when i call him he just circles around endlessly. The only way I can start the fight is by murdering Olfina Gray-mane who is standing on the balcony, but if I do that everyone goes crazy and tries to kill me, and I have to fight the dragon + an endless stream of respawning stormcloak soldiers + a jarl that i cant kill.

I'll have to remember to make a mage after this, though.
I downloaded a PC version but I seem to have trouble properly double wielding spells. I simply can't put a weapon on my left or a spell on my right normally, only by hotkeying the spells do i get double wielding going. Seems to be some bug, anyone else have it and know the solution? please pm if you do.
Also I seem to have another glitch that when attacking with my left hand (right click) it simply moves my view to the right almost 90 degrees randomly. Makes aiming spells terribly hard for me. Is their some kind of overcharge for spells? that if you charge a spell too long you get some kind of backlash? It's really annoying me because i miss 3/4s of my spells due to this 'bug'.
I just started a new game with a warrior Nord and I have to say that for the first time in TES games, playing a melee character actually feels better than stealth / magic (at least initially, I've made a million characters and never got past level 15 with any, I guess late game magic is a lot more fun).
I'm just about to go to Whiterun to fight that first dragon though, and I really have no idea how to do it as a melee only character. I guess everything is doable with a ton of potions, but I don't want do just tank with potions, I don't want to use bows, and I don't want to use magic.
Does armor weight affect the stamina expenditure during running? My only idea so far is to just sprint around him when he lands and poke at him until he goes down. Also, does the dragon level scale with mine? I still haven't figured out how scaling works in Skyrim exactly.

if you're only using spells when you need them you only need to and it's rarely at that like 200 for expert levels spells if you don't put any perks into them so i think just a few into magika every few levels would do.

yeah, i've noticed this is as well
after how completely lopsidedly overpowered magic was compared to physicals in oblivion i'm not surprised that they'd overcompensate on physicals a bit
but the thing is that my character is a magic with moderate points put into one-handed and there's still some situations where my sword finishes the battle faster than my spells do. i think a lot of it has to do with that crits in this game are almost always instant kills, and spells can't crit
i don't mind it though, given that skyrim is the land of the nords, of course hammers should prevail
being a mage is situationally less dangerous, some fights you can end without taking a scratch, but the higher level i get the more i'm really starting to regret skimping on health bonuses (i've been going with a 3 magic/2 stamina/1 health split)

Not trying to be a dick, but I have no clue what you said in your run on sentence.

Not really, any character who takes a long time to lose all his health is going to have an advantage in situations where one's not sure or gets ambushed...if you get hit by a critical as a mage you might die in one shot. Gona be hard to do that with a mofo with 300 health and bitch ass armour.
Is anyone else playing without fast travel? I highly recommend it. Even though the game goes slower the quests feel 100x more important. It's so good I cant even go back to fast travel.
So I just got sent on a bounty to kill a dragon. I found a dragon at the spot and as I attack it I realise that's actually not the dragon I've been sent to fight as a second one scorches me from behind. And during the fight I realise there's a Flame Atronoch. As I bring down the 2nd Dragon (Blood) a random fugitive runs up and informs me I need to "hold on to this"....as the F*IN atronoch kills me. Seriously annoying.
If random NPC's can chat to me without freezing time at the very least let me access my inventory so you don't kill me game. Seriously. Last save 30 minutes ago. -_-
i need some help im in the haemar's shame place fighting a vampire master, and he just pew pews me with a red beam that heals him and he 2/3 shots me with his axe
i have no idea what to do, am i possibly just too low level?

I don't know for certain that this works but it got me through it (though I was level 20ish):
Fire seems to burn vampires really well. I don't know if that's actually the case but it seems to just destroy them. If you're playing a warrior or something then maybe try shield bashing it to knock it off balance to prevent it from attacking in between killing it, most enemies one on one can be staggered for a fairly simple kill.

Yeah I'm never this OCD with saves but basically anytime I think something's about to happen I make sure I save. No bad luck JUST yet, but I never know (plus still paranoid about everyone else having crash to desktops. Only had 1 in like 50 hours, but who knows.

Fire and Silver Weapons help. But he is pretty tough.

im level 6, you get the quest directly after fighting for first dragon :l
does your wive helps you out in fights randomly or something.I was traveling on horse, i was ahead of Lydia (my companion) whom i assume was trying to catch up, then i meet a dragon and start fighting out of no where my wive Aela shows up and starts shooting at the dragon too lol.
