I just beat the game. I chose to destroy the Reapers rather than control them. I guess Shepard dies either way, but the ending for killing the Reapers was lame :/.

+ Show Spoiler +Well, provided you picked the right choices in conversations with the Illusive Man, and got enough military strength (for some reason it matters here), you get a brief scene where Shepard is shown to have survived, "wakes" up and draws a breath in a pile of rubble or something. Doesn't really make the ending less of a train wreck, but adds a bit of a "huh?".

I understand that, and the tactical significance of luring things away/keeping them away from the hack location. The problem is when they die doing so, and then not medi-gel. This happens way too often. An infiltrator can't really die if he's actually trying to survive, so it can only mean he/she was foolishly trying to hold a line on his/her own.

I've actually felt like it did more damage in the chest than the head, but I thought that was just my imagination. Interesting to see that my intuition was actually right.
Edit: So what do you guys think is the overall best class in the end? I'm gonna say that Asari Adept is the most important one to have in your party, however if we do have one, then I'd still prefer not to be that guy myself, as I'd say that in the end: Salarian/Quarian Infiltrator are the best classes, you just need a little Stasis support every now and then. (Phantoms etc)

I think Salarian Infiltrator (with a (black) Widow that is, non of that shotgun infiltrator madness) is just the overall best class. The rest is basicly situational, vs Reapers I would say Drell Adept is probably the best, vs Cerberus the Asari Adept and vs Geth both salarians are insanely powerful.

Quarian Infiltrator is also pretty sick if you skip nades altogether and go 6/0/6/6/6, hacked Atlas/Turrets are pretty beastly, not to mention every single Geth is hackable. Not recommended vs Reapers though.

It does seem like infiltrators are just better than everyone else. Cloak is so good. It gives you survivability, massive burst damage, and the ability to get away with a lot of things that ordinarily would be possible. Makes Tech Armor and the rest look kind of silly in comparison.

Sabotage is worthless compared to Energy Drain though. Energy drain allows you to basicly 1-shot everything even on gold, and it also gives you a huge bonus in survivability. Sabotage on primes has got to be the most annoying thing ever, the primes always seem to turn around when sabotaged, hiding their heads from my Widow. That said it's still an infiltrator, making it better than most other classes.

Infiltrators are indeed amazing. They can also act as medics since they can revive while cloaked.
I personally switch between playing my Asari Adept and my Infiltrators (haven't unlocked the Salarian infiltrator yet  )

Salarian Infi with a max out Black Window is a death machine imo.
So much damage, so much survability.

Infiltrators are really good at moving around in the open field and picking stuff off -- especially salarian infiltrators. However, if you're looking to post up and shut down a corridor or other avenue of attack, nothing ever beats an asari adept.

something has been bugging me since i first played me3. did anyone else find the mars crash by james at the end of the mission really jarring? we had only just met him and the player didnt know much about him, and then he uses the line "i got this one" it sounds like hes refering to a previous event where he didnt get to help, or probably just the fact he got sent away earlier in the mission. i dont know i just found that cut scene really out of place for a new character.

I think that scene was specifically meant to portray him as reckless and over the top to the point of putting himself and the squad in danger. Shepard makes it clear in their next encounter, if you wander down to the shuttle bay on the Normandy, that he needs him intact.

yes, but i didnt buy the book i bought the game, i deserve to be introduced too. wouldnt take long for them to make some cut scene adjustments and a selection when you make a new character to say if you had read the books or not.

I chose all the "good" things to say to the Illusive Man, if that means anything :s. My military strength was like over 6,000 (probably not enough). Oh I forgot the other part of my ending. It had some old man talking to a kid in some snowy grove about the stars, and then the kid asks to hear a story about Shepard.
