What else would the progress bar be for? People who can infer data from an OP would realize exactly what it's for, and if not, all they'd have to do is read the last few pages or so. That's basic Netiquette, man. You ALWAYS read the OP and the last couple pages of a thread to see if your question has already been addressed.

What we're going to do is invite Woodzykiler onto the server, change everyone's name to Woodzykiler, and just ban at random until we take down the real one. It'll be great.

I saw it coming, but unfortunately, we might have to hold off on the 1st as a release date. It sucks, but there's really nothing we can do about it. Before we can launch, Bukkit needs to come out with a stable 1.0 release (which doesn't have a real ETA at the moment), and we also need a status report about a vital project from a coder whom we haven't heard from in a little bit. Unless Serejai has the coder aspect covered, in which case, we still need Bukkit.

As they say in the U.S. Army, this is a time where you just have to "hurry up and wait".

Note that this is just what I think is going on. If/when Serejai posts about this, I defer to him, but from what I see on Bukkit, there's no 1.0 release, so I think it's safe to say that it'll be a little while.

I said we were aiming for a Dec 1 launch. Unfortunately Bukkit is still not updated yet to a stable release build... which means I can't test any of the plugins right now. I have absolutely zero control over Bukkit so I'm not quite sure what you want me to do about it.

All I have to go by is what the Bukkit devs tell me, and they told me a stable build would be out BEFORE MINECON ENDED (which was like the 18th of November). As you can see, they're quite far behind and unfortunately that puts me behind as well (despite the fact that I planned for nearly two weeks of additional time just in case).

Also, that 50% progress isn't accurate in the way you're thinking. The remaining 50% is basically all done... it's just minor touchups and plugin stability testing. In reality the server is about 95% ready, but I don't really want to mark it as that right now simply because I can't check off each item 100% until I can verify they work on 1.0 (even if they are 100% finished on 1.8).

Despite the server most likely not going up tomorrow (unless something drastic happens with Bukkit overnight, which is unlikely considering they just accidentally deleted all of their bug/issue tracker data and are starting from scratch...) I will still release other content related to it, such as information, rules, maps, features, etc. as planned.

its a SNAPSHOT build meaning not stable. sure you can use it for development to some degree, since most of the API probably won't change, but it's pretty much guaranteed to have some bugs that render it fairly unusable in public, otherwise it could be released as stable. So you can develop your stuff to a degree, but you can't properly test it and thus can't be certain that you are done.

Messed around a little back when the old server was in one of it's earlier incarnations. Should be interesting once all the mods and plugins are in place. Sounds like a lot of neat things are available now and a lot more work has gone into the server from multiple sides. If nothing else, having an automated whitelisting program should help preserve some of Serejai's sanity.

I should start planning a maze.... but I'm lazy. :\

I'm well aware of unstable dev builds that cause entire world corruption and don't work with 90% of plugins...

If you dislike this server so much then go find another one? Growing tired of you trolling this thread repeatedly -_-

EDIT: Not trying to be rude or anything but this isn't the first time you've implied I don't know how to run a server by suggesting you have some insider info that I'm not using. I assure you I know more about the development status of Bukkit than anyone else on these forums and there simply isn't a stable option at the moment. I'm in contact with the devs on a daily basis, as well as the devs of multiple high profile plugins we use, and the mod system simply isn't ready for public use yet.

If you need an immediate fix of Minecraft there are tons of servers out there using the 1.0 dev builds, but I'm not willing to sacrifice server quality to be one of them :/

Is there actually any way to detect an x-ray or ore finder hack? I mean, if you're with a group and you "randomly" dig into a wall and find diamonds, then yes, you're probably using an ore finder hack, but if you're off by yourself or with a friend then nobody will ever find out.

I guess you could theoretically look in all random corners and caves for suspicious behavior, but xray/orefinder (zombe's modpack) is all client-side, no?
