Meh I could've asked my uncle to teach me it since I believe he knows Java, but he's doing doing work for three weeks in the most remote part of the country and by the time he got back and I managed to learn it, would be far too late.

How simple are we talking? I've taken two classes on it and thus have a basic grounding, how far would that likely go in helping out?

I really don't know. Some things are simple... others are complex. I'm sure if you wanted to help there's something you could do, though. Best thing to do would be to log on IRC tomorrow and talk to Mino. He could tell you what entry-level stuff needs to be done.

In the meantime, we're getting loads of other stuff done in the world, like setting up quest chains and initial spawn points, implementing a certain special feature, and making a bunch of Woodzykiler NPCs and putting them all over the place. We're comin' along quite well. Just waitin' on Bukkit and a project from our own coders.

As before, the actual server has basically been ready. Just waiting on a few plugins to become stable with 1.0 Bukkit at the moment.
From the list I posted earlier:
Block logging/rollback is not ready (still waiting for a fix to rollback) Monster difficulty scaling is not ready (still waiting on a 1.0 version) Region protection is not ready (appears to be working as of a dev build release yesterday... still doing minor tests to make sure, though) Chest protection is not ready (fix is expected tomorrow) NPCs are not ready (these are working again, but rather buggy. However, I'm gonna go ahead and say they're good enough for what we need them for)
Right now I'm basically just programming in quests (couldn't start until yesterday because NPCs weren't working - and I will open the server without them 100% finished if they're not done when everything else works, since they're optional content) and playing around with hardware/plugins trying to break the server. You know, standard QA stuff. If all goes as planned I'll do a stress test this weekend as well as allow people on to start registering their accounts and have permissions pre-loaded for the actual release. Will do some kind of server event, too, just so you guys have something to do other than stand around.

Stress test tomorrow. Don't have an exact time just yet but likely sometime in the afternoon EST. The main world will be disabled but I've set up a secondary world full of monsters and things you can set on fire and blow up. Basically, 30 minutes of blowing shit up and mindlessly slaughtering things.

Stress test at 21:00 GMT (+00:00) today. Basically I will open up the server and post the IP here. After logging on you guys will have about half an hour to kill hordes of monsters. TNT/Fire enabled.

Shortly, sorry. Something is cock blocking the placement of TNT for some reason and we've spent the last three hours trying to figure out what. Really want you to be able to blow things up so give us just a few more minutes to see if we can get it working.

All done. For some unknown reason the plugin we use to give commands like /tp and /setspawn was blocking TNT placement. There is no documentation of this anywhere... so looks like the plugin author (who is a giant douchebag anyway) stuck it in the latest version without telling anyone.
