In BG2 you cannot get books that increase your attributes so imported character will be more powerful. Also some iconic items from BG1 also get imported into BG2 like Helm of Balduran (but you don't start with them, they only get added to certain places to be found again) Do I just have a Charcter read the books with right click or do I just have to have them in my inventory? They're consumable items and work exactly the same way potions do. So the effects not there forever or they stay forever? Just so I know if it's worth it or not to get them. The stat boosts are permanent. The books are used like potions and are gone after a single use. Sweet! Thank you for the info!

Well I bumping this as I now got a new problem. How do I defeat Nizidramanii'y with my party as I mentioned in my first post in here only they all did level up since that post just by 1 level?
|
Is that a Dragon? In which part of the game, I cannot remember the name?
|
Just googled it, it's the black dragon in Suladessanar. To be honest, it's pretty easy. Or at least should be. Just cast all the buffs you can before triggering the dialog(anti fear is important here, iirc) and punch him in the face.
|
Yeah, just do usual anti-dragon stuff?
Buff yourself up (fear!). Let your fighters fight (surround him). Let your casters lower his resistance and then throw magic missiles at him until he dies.
Iirc he was the easiest Dragon in SoA ? I allways had more problems with the others… Let alone Tob-Ascension Abazigal… Woah, that bitch…

if you have high charisma you can also kindly ask him to give you the cup. all he wants is everything in your inventory

Is it something like insect swarm or insect plague? Those aren't supposed to do much damage but they do prevent spellcasting. If you're getting killed by that, you are not killing him fast enough. Buff up with spells like protection from evil, haste and defensive harmony. Use breach and lower resistance. Dispel/remove magic if you have to.

Harm > Lower Resistance > Magic Missiles
Dead dragon in 5 seconds...unless the Harm misses.

The ultra cheesy way would be to do that after emptying your inventory.

What Charisma do I need to do it?

I always found dragons/big dialogue initiated bosses in general to be funny. You stand around the dragon in a hexagon (to avoid him from aoeing your whole squad), and start buffing up and summoning shit, and I just picture the dragon being "What are you doing? Why are you standing all around me suspiciously while bringing in minions?!" And your party leader is like "NOTHING!" And then you proceed to body that dragon/boss.

I just beat him using brute force with just healing all my weak members when they get attacked and switch tanks often enough after using breach on him :D time to progress to the rest of the story so any tips on how to do the rest of the game?

Ahm.. Well... "Kill Irenicus?"...
Not much else left to do for you aside from leaving Suldanezalar again and doing some sidequests/optional Fights: Dragons: Fierkraag (Windspear-Hills), Shadowdragon (Temple of Amaunator) and the Silver Dragon (if you haven't allready). The hard Party vs Party fights: Big Mansion in the Temple District (should be pretty easy at this Point and grants a really good Katana). The hidden sphere in the bridge district (imho hardest fight in the game but grants a totally broken staff for mages).
And the Demilich (Gax?) for the best ring in the game..
Or build some of the decent weapons that can help you in Tob (if you still can or haven't allready)... Crom Fayer, Flail of Ages and the Silver Sword are imho the ones you want most likely. The equaliser is, sadly, pretty bad.

I just started playing BG2. Do I get some kind of disadvantage if I rest often?

Not at all. You have a chance to be interrupted when resting in dungeons, though.
