Now I still can't log in and download the client because it says I need to accept the EULA. How do I do that? I already filled out the form for my beta profile, but there isn't any option in my account manager to accept some kind of eula, and at the bottom of the main page it says " you have not been invited bla bla bla". Could it be that I need to wait until the next beta "phase" starts before they dig through the accounts that have an activated beta key and invite me? The new account manager has the option to accept the EULA on the main page when you log in. If you have done that, it is because the beta is not active yet for this weekend. That is direct from a Trion CM, as I e-mailed them with the same issue. I apologize for those of you who PM'd me about Beta 2 and using my account, I went away sooner than anticipated and was not able to respond to PM's. I can no longer lend it because I have pre-ordered and it contains my account information. If you are still interested in playing, the only way I am aware of the be assured acceptance into any of the remaining beta events is by pre-ordering.

Can someone in the beta elaborate on how those work? One of the things I've never liked about MMOs is how static the worlds are. I'm not in the beta but from hwat I saw in the video's what happens is a rift will randomly open and change the landscape in that immediate area. It will start spawning monsters that will start to take control of the area, even towns. You have to fight back the monsters to close the rift or they will stay there messing shit up.

Also, whats the goal of the PVP? More like Aion (high rank for awesome items, server highest etc etc), or more like Warhammer (where its everyone can get top after a lot of grinding). Looks like quite a fun game - trying to download the client in preparation of the beta event this friday but... no key yet :<

Rifts are dynamic content that changes the world you play in. They spawn with a bunch of mobs that need to be cleared in waves to close them. If you don't close them then they spawn invasions that take over towns/quest hubs. The rifts also scale with population of players in the zone, so it doesn't get overboard. You really have to experience it to truly understand how it works. PVP is rank based as well as "favor" (currency like AP/honor) based. You need to reach a certain rank and have the currency to buy items. It is still a little unclear on how you gain rank as you need to be 50 for that and the cap in Beta is 27. Lower level gear does not have rank restrictions.

The items on the top half are "talents" if you want to refer to a common WoW term. Each point in that specific tree unlocks the bonus for spending the point, as well as skills. Skills are not earned by level, but by investing points into that classes tree.

I got a beta key by being subscribed to NVidia's newsletter or something because I've purchased their video cards. Just about finished downloading the game (~3 minutes left of a 7.43 GB file X_X ). I'm not too terribly excited about this game, but I love testing new games. My irritation comes with the fact that most "top tier" MMOs being released of the past 6 years or so have been fantasy RPGs similar to WoW in a many ways, with their own gimmicky little twist. I'm waiting for a good sci-fi MMO (not EvE, not Planetside) that's going to hook me, but until then I'm just going to bitch these guys out on their forums. D= edit: keep forgetting that today is thursday and not friday. Beta starts in about 12 hours. edit 2: also, if you go to the RIFT website, their is a beta sign up link on the front page.
