It's not really a PvP game and world PvP is rare. It's faction based with no ability to change between the two factions so there's obviously no PK penalties, it's not FFA PvP so you can't kill your own race, rewards are just Favor points that you can use to buy gear and there's basically no death penalty (you lose 10% soul vitality every time you die, when it reaches 0 you get a -20% stat debuff until you talk to a healer npc). Warfronts are cross-server so it's not that terrible queue times. But yeah if you're looking for a mainly PvP focused game you should move on, Rift is as themepark as it gets. Oh, and the zone layout is pretty messed up, the map is basically split in half and each factions has one side so most of the zones aren't even shared by the two factions so you won't run into the other faction that much unless you are specifically in an enemy zone looking for PvP. People are asking for servers with FFA PvP ruleset though, but pretty sure that will never happen even though the devs are pretty good at listening to feedback.

Anyone who has good chunk of free time and willing to heavily test PVP and PVE. Someone who desires to be in Alpha hit me up with a PM. I need your Rift forum name & or email you registered with to pass on for Alpha invite to the CM's. First four to contact will be passed on and you MAY NOT be press or game dev yourself.

Alpha started a long time ago but it's a non-stop running server (Outside downtime for patches ect). Unlike Beta events which are 3 days per pop and only roughly once a month. Alpha is a trial server to test a full-time running live server with roughly 4000 people. Can't really say much more then Alpha exsist (Everything else is under NDA) and people in the Alpha are allowed to suggest 4 people they want to get invite to Alpha phase of testing as a Thank You from Rift gaming team. Figured who would be better to share it with community who has similar love for games as myself then Tl members?

Has anyone been theory crafting with classes? I've already thought up of necro/dom/lock and not sure about the rogue but I want one. Maybe like Assassin, Saboteur and something else.

I've done plenty of theorycrafting with classes. Depending on how you want to spend your points, it can be very difficult to effectively incoprorate a third soul. If you go to 51 in one tree, you're effectively leaving half of your points to be split between 2 trees. If you want abilities in all trees, you're going to severely limit yourself to some of the lower end abilities. I haven't done much along the lines of the the caster classes, but I have a friend who has been going through them like crazy. He has theory crafted necrodomlock to no end and it honestly seems to be pretty viable from my point of view. Keep in mind a lot of the theory crafting in this point is very unclear, more so than normal. We don't know what any of the end game is like so it's very hard to look at these abilities and be like,"Well, this is going to be good because it sounds awesome!' At least if you're theory crafting WoW for example, you know what kind of content you're crafting around...if that makes any sense. There are still a lot of uknowns in Telara and they will take some time to get out into the public, particularly since they are gating the content in the beta events. I am all for helping out with some theory crafting or testing stuff as well. If you want/need help, just let me know.

It would be so much fun! I still don't want to sacrifice game time to play it though but i'm going to have to lol. I guess the Necro/Dom/Lock is a pretty obvious one haha.. It was the first one that came to mind. I usually go for one spell caster and then one rogue like character but I'm having difficulty trying to guess what will match together with out a skill calculator of any sort. Either way I'm looking for to playing the beta and hope it meets my expectations. I'd like to get back into the MMO world again

These are pretty much up to date but they are still making a lot of class changes so they might not be exact on launch.

I've seen that Nightblade got a considerable buff in this event, so I will be giving it a try when I get home and seeing how it performs. It was one of my favorite souls to begin with, so I'm certainly pleased.
