Been 3 days, been doing sPvP and WvW with my engineer. PvP is fun and surprisingly balanced, and there are endless possibilities in which you can play your class. I've played my engineer in at least 10 different past in the past 3 days. Combat is tough at the moment, especially realizing who is doing what and which class has what specific abilities is near impossible, but that's to be expected I guess. The double-killing, i.e. spear, is interesting, and adds depth to the game and team combats. Crafting system is complicated and I have no idea what's going on.
My grade so far is 8.5/10, and I'm deducting the 1.5 points because of my confusion in battle and crafting.
i really dont like that you can revive people that were completely killed. Its so annoying in world vs world, you cant whittle down a zerg, you have to wipe it or it revives.
Anyone happen to see a high volume of quests and mostly events that are glitching? I've been noticing more and more as i get to higher levels. I'm currently 59

imo engi is a top tier pvp class with its utilities and mad cc
Somehow have the feeling that double dagger with fire is insanely OP ... in comparison to any other weapon it does like 4-5x the damage... Easly beating all veterans and even 5-6 mobs at the same time. I can litteraly stomp my way through everything ...

Is it going to change?
I have a friend playing double daggers in level 80 end game areas. He does mad damage, but later on, you're absolutely squishy and need to play very smart. Mobs in the end game areas are ruthless and some of the enemies can easily 1 or 2 shot you if you're an elementalist playing D/D.

Double dagger ele has the first or second highest dps in the game. Maybe behind warrior. The issue is you're squishy as hell. If anything gets up close to you when you're not paying attention it's pretty much gg. Unless you pop all of your defensive cd's and even then it depends on them not chasing you down.

Hmmm ... then i guess there is actually no better option for solo then , two hand staff seems so bad with fire imo how about water ... is the healing actualy any usefull later on?

I really only do spvp but all i see is double dagger with air and fire. It's pretty sick. I think staff has the aoe's, yeah? That'd be good for wvwvw.
I'm lvl28 elementalist at the moment and I've found great success with scepter main hand with dagger offhand. For fire attunement you really have 5 high damage nuke spells, with 2 combo finishers that trigger off of ring of fire, giving you +6 stacks of might instantly. Water has a bit of aoe heal utility in water trident and the aoe condition removal thing. Lightning attunment you still have ride the lightning and updraft for those sticky situations. Earth you have rock armor (which persists even with attunment change), and the aoe knockdown + churning earth.
Argh, Engineer is so fun. Been running Teldo's Condition Node Defender and my goodness is it just fun to do. Pvp was such a blast(pun intended) I love holding points for ages.

Can someone explain what are combo finishers, stacks of might, and whatnot? Thanks in advance
Putting down a spell that has:"Combo Field: Fire" and using a spell in that area that has "Combo Finisher: Blast" gives you 3 stacks of Might. A scepter/dagger ele has the ring of fire to put down a field, then the dragon tooth and phoenix for the blast, giving you 2x3=6 stacks of might. You can even add in the arcane blast from your skills for a 3rd Blast finisher for 9 stacks of might in total.
Here's some new SPVP footage on Elementalist for those interested.
Sweet thanks for posting this whats your trait setup? I plan on trying D/D when I reach 80. I see you use the Air Elemental I think it is the best for pure dps better than the fire elemental imo.
Also what the fuck is the fucking Juvenile Hawk Eye? Yesterday in WvW that fucking bird was so annoying I know its probably a pet but do they have like a range or something. I was more than 1,200 meters from the action but that thing was still after me
I think air is pretty good for stable dps but you have to be closer to the target, and fire gives you more spike damage in total. I think you mean the pet, they seem to have a big range.
