 So I been hearing A LOT of good things about the game and it looks totally awesome, I been bouncing around the idea of playing this or MoP, I know enough about wow to know I will like it but not enough about GW2 to dismiss it as an option. How does pvp work here? is it all WvW type of bg's and what not? I heard theres sPvP too but is that like 3v3's or something? I know you get bumped to level 80 and with best pvp gear etc etc. Is there any sort of World pvp in this game? It seems to me like there wouldn't be since everyone is in the same faction but again I haven't heard anyone talk about this. I know they got rid of the whole trinity of healer/dps/tank but is there anyway to be just a healer in this game or something close to that and is there even a need for a specialized healer in this game? is everyone just a mix of the 3 with just 1 being better than the other 2 depending how you build your character? I kind of like healing far more than I like dpsing (holy pally/shaman player). And the last one, what do you do at max level pve wise? Are there raids or dungeons of any sort? I read that the goal at max level is not just like gear up for raids like you would do in WoW but its worth asking, it seems everything is pvp related or exploration and thats about all I know on this subject. WvW type BG's wheres it's a 1v1v1 FFA between the realms in 4 gigantic zones that ar essentially the same layout, each realm has a "home" zone and then theres a neutral zone which everyone fights over. Spvp is usually 8v8 casually when playing with friends or Q'ing alone, then theres more competitive 5v5 which is smaller and more focused. No world PvP in the PvE zones. Closest thing to a healer is a guardian, but you can just sit there you have to be spamming spells and helping kill the mobs too or you're only being 50% usefull. There is no dedicated healer and everyone is responsible for themselves, you can't sit in the back and toss heals, theres no targeting heals anyway you could spam. Max lvl PvE is crafting, exploring, getting the best gear, doing events, doing dungeons, and waiting for them to continually release more content to explore, beat and gain more loot. Yes there are dungeons, one every 10 lvls starting at lvl30. They are for 5man groups and have 2 modes, one harder than the first that has better rewards and different bosses. Same thing you do in WoW you do here essentially, same goals etc. just do what you want and have fun. Think I covered all your questions. | ||

Great Sword seem to be Mesmers AOE weapon have to do some more research on it. It does seem Mesmer does have problems in PvE at later levels but I have heard that about Elementalist also. | ||

However I have not had a lot of trouble taking on two or three non-veteran enemies, you have plenty of tools. And one-on-one you can take out pretty much anything but champions no problem. Most of the time your 1200 range attacks are good enough to pull single enemies away anyway. | ||

All the beta weekends where 3 days and it makes alot more sense to talk about them as a crack addiction then the 3 day headstart because that is uninterupted into launch, whereas the beta weekends everyone tried to play as much as possible (sometimes even forgoing sleep) to get to a higher level and experience more content. Thats how I understood it at least it wouldnt even make sense to call headstart a 3 day crack addiction because its uninterrupted into launch, whereas all the BWE's where three day "binge events" | ||

The one thing i didnt like about the mesmer was the delay on alot of the abilities , because your not casting the abilities yourself and they are coming from an illusion you have to wait for the illusion to spawn and then wait for them to cast it. I wish it was more instant, i especially noticed it using sword and pistol. Also I kind of disliked how your middle ability doesnt change based on whats in your offhand, that how it works with most of the other classes. | ||

I don't agree at all! my mesmer is great at handling multiple enemies without dying. whats your build? as for AOE i use staff so i have that aoe field thing and then im mass shattering which is also AOE im still leveling so i can only speak for the part of the game im at but my gear isnt good or anything and right now i can easily take on 3 lvl 49-50 mobs and im lvl 46 | ||
