I don't feel impressed by anything, I don't feel like exploring is exciting. It's more of a grind than most other mmos, hell there are even like 5-6 different mobs that never change throughout the areas and all the quests are "kill this for some time, then go to the next place and kill the same enemy". "Boss" battles is just button mashing (as is every fight). There's no teamplay. Nothing happens in the world, everything is incredibly static (no, "events" don't count). The crafting system is extremely tedious. Your character doesn't look different for like 80 levels. The personal story is a joke and obviously nothing they put any effort in (which is fine, I guess; priorities are priorities). I'm so bored of this type of game that is only about ability spamming and has absolutely no consequences to anything you do ever. I guess I'm too old and experienced with games to feel immersed in these kind of games, since people seem to like this game? Also, the pvp system is incredibly confusing and boring. I still don't understand what's the point of even having it in. Well you answered why you hate it in that last sentence. It's a pvp oriented game. If you dont understand the pvp system obviously you're not going to like the game. Not to mention it sounds like you didn't even try the dungeons which are being labelled as damn near impossible. So that debunks your "button mash" theory. I'm not going to convince you to like the game, but you honestly didn't try. 60 hours or not you didn't look much into anything. Why is it pvp oriented? What's the point of winning in pvp? Absolutely none.
Whats the point of winning pvp in any other game? Also the PVE is at least a little different from other mmos. They basically mixed standard mmo leveling with Assassin's Creed.

I get it off and on a lot as well with 40 down and 5 up. Dunno why. Sometimes logging off and back on will fix it (mostly cause you switch from normal to overflow) but a lot of times it's in the wvwvw when keep sieging or something. Makes it terrible trying to pull people down from the walls.

Guild still has lots of problems? Got an invite for the TL guild last night but it still has not showed up :/

I've been struggling to really master the elementalist. Haven't been able to play that much with sc2 casting, planetside 2 beta and what not. But I'm level 18 and I feel like I spend 95% of the time in Fire Attunement, just trying to kill whatever I'm hitting quicker than it's killing me. I haven't dived into the PvP yet seeming I figure I should feel comfortable knowing wtf I'm doing first of. Have had a prefference for 2handed staffs so far. Any specific tips?

Im level 28 at the moment and have used primarily just the staff. From looking around at various sites and videos you basically want to have Glyph of the Lesser Elemental when you are doing PvE so that it can tank and you don't have to kite so much. As I am sure you can tell most of the Attunements are AOE. I personally start in Earth Attunement first for the single target CC (5) and then place Eruption (2), switch attunement to fire and place lava font at the same place as eruption for a combo blast and make damage giving you a bleed and possible burn.
Air is good for more single targets or 2 targets. Also make sure you get arcane wave asap, I am not sure if you know about combo fields but you can give your self 7 stacks of might for a big boost in damage.
Basically the idea is to kite, kite, kite. When you get higher levels I hear that conjure Lighting hammer and Earth Elemental work really well. I havent tested it yet need another skill point Frost Bow isnt to bad but I wouldn't spend points on Flame Axe. I mostly try to get bleeds with eruption then dps down in Fire with my lesser Elemental.
Look at these sites for some good reads on Elementalists and Staff play

For borderless windowed mode with 2 screens, is there a way to lock the mouse on the game?

Yeah, what's the point of watching Starcraft matches? That's just PvP too. PvE at least you can get achievements for beating the AI! lolololol

Both times I've tried WvW the server that my friends randomly pulled out of hat to play on has been getting it's ass handed to it. Everywhere I go there's 2 or 3 enemies for every 1 ally and they hold almost everything... it's just not fun at that point.
Two other quick questions. How does the being in multiple guilds work, as in, do you have to be representing a guild to talk in guild chat? Also can non-TL members (3 of my friends) join the TL guild if we swap over to Ehrmy(sp?) Bay?
Guilds are account wide. I transferred my character to Tainted Wastelands (or something like that) after getting tired of Ehmry Bay's total ineptness with WvW. With that said, I still am in TLRR, I just represent it when I'm doing PvE. When I'm doing PvP, I'm representing a PvP guild on the server I transferred to. (And yes, to hear and speak in the guild chat with TL, you have to be representing the TL guild at that time)
And man WvW PvP has so much more depth than I ever thought possible now that I'm with a good group. People communicate, organize, and strategize so much better. Anyone interested in WvW really should make sure you're on a server that actually cares about winning it.
The TLRR guild is not really oriented towards anything in particular. It's just a community guild of players varying in dedication and aims.

Ehmry Bay sucks so fucking much at WvW that we got matched with 2 of the 3 new servers that were added post launch. Haha.

Jade Quarry seems to be the only one that can compete with Stormbluff Isle.

Holy shit, the ascalonian catacombs on explore mode is hard as fuck.. I don't understand why you are scaled down to level 35 for it.. It's too insane!
Just killed lieutenant kholer... holy crap that was hard

Jesus piercing arrows on Rangers ARE GREAT!
it changes up the game so much, positioning matters that much more to effectively maximize your dps

The personal story starts to become better now, the level 50 quest (defend an island against hordes of undead) was almost as epic as some GW1 missions.
The only bad thing about it: It was barely playable due to massive lag. I punched an undead twice, then we stared each other in the eyes for 5 seconds while i spammed my hotkeys without anything happening, then everything exploded and either me or all the opponents around me were dead. Kinda destroyed the immersion.
In normal PvE i still have the occasional laggy times where skills took a second or two to actually fire. Funnily enough it's better on the overflow so i'm now hoping to always land on the overflow.
They really need to get their servers in shape. Also, whenever i need some crafting materials the auction house is unavailable

Excellent! Thanks a lot for the tips. Have to cast that EPS Berlin thing now, but I'll be sure to put it in to practice later.

This is the most fun I've had in an MMO since Guild Wars 1 and WoW came out, plus the WvWvW is immense fun, the strategy behind it is far deeper than I imagined. This is also the best time I've ever had in PvE for a long time, the World Events keep things feeling epic through each zone :D
