So bored with this game I've played like 60 hours now and never had any fun at all.
I don't feel impressed by anything, I don't feel like exploring is exciting. It's more of a grind than most other mmos, hell there are even like 5-6 different mobs that never change throughout the areas and all the quests are "kill this for some time, then go to the next place and kill the same enemy". "Boss" battles is just button mashing (as is every fight). There's no teamplay. Nothing happens in the world, everything is incredibly static (no, "events" don't count). The crafting system is extremely tedious. Your character doesn't look different for like 80 levels. The personal story is a joke and obviously nothing they put any effort in (which is fine, I guess; priorities are priorities). I'm so bored of this type of game that is only about ability spamming and has absolutely no consequences to anything you do ever. I guess I'm too old and experienced with games to feel immersed in these kind of games, since people seem to like this game?
Also, the pvp system is incredibly confusing and boring. I still don't understand what's the point of even having it in.

Well you answered why you hate it in that last sentence. It's a pvp oriented game. If you dont understand the pvp system obviously you're not going to like the game. Not to mention it sounds like you didn't even try the dungeons which are being labelled as damn near impossible. So that debunks your "button mash" theory. I'm not going to convince you to like the game, but you honestly didn't try. 60 hours or not you didn't look much into anything.

Dude, I already wasted $60 by mistake.
I pre-purchased the game from Gamestop then lost my receipt before I picked up my boxed copy. I ended up buying the game a second time to enter the retail code before my pre-purchase code expired (or so I believed).
However, I heard that I might be able to still pick up the boxed copy with just my ID and phone number without the receipt, so maybe I'm a complete idiot here.

That's about the stupidest question you could ask in that regard. What's the point in winning a tournament? What's the point in beating competition? Fun and hopefully prestige and prizes.

It's saddening that you don't appreciate the game, still I am not sure you are playing it like it's meant to be. Exploring alone is wonderful : listening to conversations, understanding the history of the different people, why they fight etc ... While I too don't appreciate the overlap of events and activities, most activities don't require you to kill anything and all of them are really inside a wider story. That alone should be worth your 60$ !

It's Guild wars. It's a PvP game. They just happend to put more work in the MMO pve side than in the previous game.
How does the TL server do in WvW? Both times I've tried WvW the server that my friends randomly pulled out of hat to play on has been getting it's ass handed to it. Everywhere I go there's 2 or 3 enemies for every 1 ally and they hold almost everything... it's just not fun at that point.
Two other quick questions. How does the being in multiple guilds work, as in, do you have to be representing a guild to talk in guild chat? Also can non-TL members (3 of my friends) join the TL guild if we swap over to Ehrmy(sp?) Bay?
Anyone know where to get a Digital Copy through their partners? I tried the UK Game store and clicked "Digital" but it never indicates that it's the digital version I'm downloading, if anything it's the physical copy only. Any ideas?
Love the music : ) thought I would ask your opinion, do you think an elementalist would be viable in pvp with high australian latency? trying to figure out what class I should play that suits having a bit of lag in pvp
For WvW it can work, but it'll be hard for Spvp when you need to be pretty precise.
Do all classes need to be precise in Spvp? Some more/less than others?

MMOs can be competitive despite you thinking they are not. I'm not sure what you think qualifies as competitive but I think two teams squaring off against each other in a goal oriented arena is competition enough.

Ok, so the pve intentionally sucks. Good to know.
It doesn't suck :/ I find it really enjoyable Kinda like playing Fallout but as an MMO character with hotkey based rpg gameplay

He hasn't played a single dungeon. Anyone who has would tell you the PVE doesn't suck, and is in fact extremely challenging. Meaning it takes more thought than just knowing the rotation of the boss a la wow pve (which is complete garbage) to actually complete.
