It gets rid of people who take advantage of things and willingly abuse game mechanics in favor of people who practice responsible disclosure, and show understanding that the game is new, things are broken, and would rather have a good game going forward, then just getting ahead at the developers expense.

Next thing is they will ban people for using a certain ability I know of to move around the map faster. Only intended to be used against enemies, obvious exploit! Ban people for killing a boss in not exactly the intended manner. It just sets a bad tone. Don't ban people who gave you 60 bucks. Fix the abusive mechanic, blame the game not the player. Or at least do both. + Show Spoiler + When did releasing a broken game become acceptable? It's totally moved from being the devs problem, and now its the customers fault for not finding it before release.

How is this a suckers attitude, I want my games to be filled with people who aren't going to screw everyone else over, including developers, in the name of "winning". Sure, small advantages here and there are what will get you ahead, but this was in no way a small advantage. What you are suggesting is that you will be able to move around from one thing to another quicker then others, and, unless this "small" advantage would result in you breaking the economy by not allowing anyone else to farm mobs or would result in getting 30 times more karma then a normal player would be able to. Go right ahead and continue.

One time I got banned for "roofing" in World of Warcraft. + Show Spoiler + ![]() I was tile jumping on this roof thats connected to the motherfucking ground lol. So you can say I'm biased against dumb bans even if they dont amount to much. Also, how bad could the exploit could have been if all equipment is reduced to stock and all levels are equalized in PvP? Also being able to move around quicker than others is ENORMOUS in a game like GW2.

The exploit could have been very bad, money is not extremely easy to make in GW2, and this would have injected a large amount of money to a small group of people who saw fit to use very obviously broken merchant to buy more weapons then they could even hold. Also, if you think that this is such a HUGE boon to people in GW2, then perhaps you should not have called it a small advantage, and just report it without it announcing it to the world so that it can be fixed.

Cheesedawg, you may as well drop it. Some people honestly can't comprehend the impact their exploiting actually has on the game/other players as a whole, and had no idea that buying 100+ of an incredibly, obviously underpriced item for their own gain wasn't how the game was meant to be played.

It was definitely ban-worthy and he even admitted it. You know when you're doing something like that it's obviously an exploit, there's just no excuse and the only thing you hope at that point is that you don't get caught because if you do, there really isn't an argument about whether you're guilty or not, especially when they load their TOA with warnings that they will in fact perma-ban you for serious game-breaking exploits. I'm just glad for everyone that they are going to lift the perma-bans to temp-bans for this initial fiasco. I'm not sure how truthful this is but I was also told that anyone who bought the item less than 40 times wasn't even punished, and anyone who bought it less than 100 times was only given the 72 hr bans (although they ended up lifting all the perm-bans to 72 hr bans for those who choose to petition it).

Game is not safe right now. I would just log out until everything blows over and they fix the game. There is NO telling what is or is not a ban-worthy item right now. Maybe Arenanet will come out with a list items that if you buy they will ban you. Or maybe add a dialogue in the game "Warning if you buy this item you will be banned". And everyone I know is playing the game and having the time of their lives. They also knew better than to use the vendors to get an OBVIOUS unfair advantage using a clear exploit that Arenanet failed to notice. If your friends got banned they deserved it, anyway 72hour ban if they delete everything they gained from it, so they should count themselves lucky they arn't buying the game again.

Eventually, when free transfers go away, you'll be able to guest on other realms, which'll let you participate in PvE and sPvP (I think), but not WvW. Also, while you can join guilds from any server, you'll only gain benefits that your homeworld has upgraded. The only way to join a full world is to wait for it to be not full. If it never becomes not full, I don't think you can transfer to it. Sorry. If you enjoy competitive small group PvP, this will probably be your MMO for a long, long time. If you enjoy massive PvP battles, it's also a lot of fun. If you enjoy exploring, this will keep you occupied for a good while. The PvE, however, has several momentum issues where you can stop dead in your tracks due to bad luck. We also have no idea how much they'll support endgame PvE content.

Felt like I was in a massive LOTR battle, shit was flying everywhere, bodies all over the ground, and a million ppl spamming "THIS IS SPARTA" on chat. This is exactly what everyone wanted out of Warhammer online but did not recieve. And I can do this at lvl 6 thx to scaling. Epic Win. I fully agree man. The WvW is extremely fun! Especially if people actually do fight for it. Right now my server is having no troubles whatsoever(Henge of Denavi, home to the Titan Alliance) and we are itching for the server matchups to work properly and having proper 3way server battles ![]()

You can play WvW at level 6 but someone at level 80 will still trash you all the time just because he has better equipment. They have this great PvP equip system and insist on not using it in WvW :-/

The end game is apparently nothing worth writing home about, at least you can feel that "I will get good gear and then I will pwn in WvWvW". It's so casual and zergy anyway, so it's not a big deal.
