I mean I'll probably be leveling pretty fast, but thats because everything gives legit XP and I'll probably bounce around doing some of this and that between PvPing, but I'm in no rush to get to 80 as some magical holy grail with this game. It seems mobs have been toned down since BWE1 when they'd just facerape with little to no warning. Even so mobs can actually 1 shot you, so pay attention and learn to dodge. The combat is going to be different than your standard MMO, it'll take some getting used to and IMO be a nightmare to master. So my advice is don't go into it with your standard MMO derp face watch TV while mashing 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2 mindset or you'll be dead. Also just have fun with it. It's not like recent MMOs where you're forced into doing stuff you don't really want to do because you NEED to for X. It was a little awkward but in BWE2 I just let myself go, I did whatever I wanted to do when the thought popped in my head. That sounds like fun! I'd go do it. An MMO hasn't been this good since DAoC in what, 2001? Over a decade ago. It's quite different just doing things because you're having fun doing them. Also I leveled like crazy just doing whatever the fuck I felt like. It's almost like having your cake and eating it too. God I still remember BWE1. Horrible XP rates, and mobs that would two shot you at level 5 lol ;_; Wait have they upped experience gain or something? I only played in BWE1 (been waiting patiently for release since then) and I remember it being a bit annoying to level up fastish and had to redo quests to level up. Yes this is true. The reason being:
1) Engineers have kits that take up utility slots. They can get for instance an Elixir Gun Kit that gives them 5 new main abilities, or a grenade kit, or a mine kit (that lets you have up to 5 detonatable mines) and a flamethrower and the likes. They even have a kit for their healing slot that lets them throw out med kits and shit.
2) Elementalists have 4 attunements. So one weapon setup gives them TWENTY spells. Two weapon sets would be absolutely broken.

As the other guy said if you go into battlegrounds everyone is 80 with the same gear. The gear has slots for gems you can swap around for free so you can alter things around. More crit, more HP, etc to tweak a build. You also get all your traits and skills to make a build. But the gear is all the same as to make it as even and skill based as possible.
WvW you're there with your gear whether it sucks or not. Generally I didn't notice a problem there equipment wise and it's not like I was min/maxing my gear for beta WvW =P

He's an alpha tester. Obviously with the NDA he can't reveal everything but he does a good job just going around explaining things (especially the older videos on twitch and youtube) and being newbie friendly. He also is just fun to listen too.
Much more fun than scouring the wiki for info IMO, even if you're not going to get everything with his videos.

Pre-purchases get 3 days, Pre-orders get 1.
I'm not really sure what the difference is aside from that. Check your e-mail receipt for whether it says "pre-order" or "pre-purchase". I also heard if you log in to the main GW2 site and go to the home page, the days remaining until launch will be based on whether you pre-purchased/ordered or not.

Prepurchases from guild wars 2 main website are all 3 days headstart. Other websites that sell guild wars may be 1 or none from what I know.

Pre-purchase means you've fully bought the game and just waiting on them to ship it to the stores and pick it up. Pre-order means you paid a minimal amount to reserve a copy on said day and will pay for it when you pick it up.
Only the GW2 website store and select retailers like BestBuy and Gamestop are allowed to sells pre-purchases if you wanted a physical box.

Does pvp gear give any bonus stats or it doesn't matter if you are level 1 playing sPvP or level 80 that has farmed for some time and bought gear with the pvp currency?

yeah its true, but elementalists have 4 attunements to switch. so u get basicly 20 skills with the weapon/weaponset
for engineers its only one weapon/weaponset with 5 skills, but there u get some kits to switch in the utility bar. e.g bombkit,minekit,... witch generate 5 new skills in your skillbar
