My second post, the one you quoted, was talking about the second part of your post about how you can't compare sizes. I fully expect a new game to have a larger world than a game released 8 years ago. Think of how much bigger GTA4 was than GTA3. It's part of progress that games get bigger and more complex. Have to agree that newer generations should be bigger when comparing MMOs but still no need to talk about all those other things, was just talking about mass.

EDIT: Do you guys think that Blizz tried to kill GW2 with Diablo ? Diablo was hype and havent turned out as planed so players are now scared of buying a new game. Genius Blizzard !

That would make no since, Diablo isn't an MMO lol and has no multiplayer.

Race choice is purely cosmetic (no stat bonuses) so a Norn Ele has no disadvantage compard to an Asura Ele. Same applies to spirit choice, Bear/Raven/etc. only affect your personal story, not your stats/performance.

WoW has 3 (soon to be 4) expansions out which released huge landmass each time. Guild wars 2 (apparently) rivals this on release. It kind of says it for itself IMO, GW2 will be bigger by comparison, when it releases its expansions. (and trust me, if its like GW1 was, the expansions are fucking huge. like double the world size huge)

It has a coop which is penalized worse than playing solo. Would hardly call that multiplayer sadly.

Thanks I don't think they've announced anything at the present moment. Do consider however that there won't be any subscription fee; you pay $60 once and that's it, you can play the full game as much or as little as you like over as long a period as you like. Perhaps you can watch some videos to educate yourself on the game a little more before paying that $60 but it's not as much of an investment as traditional subscription-based MMOs are.

That's kinda the whole sad joke of D3, you only get penalties by going into the limited coop...

do you predict that the game will be sitting on its content for the release of expansions? and what do you think would be expanded on with those expansions/dlc's? i think i'll be very open to changes with classes.. as learned with d3, the only problem is that many of those changes in d3 were hot-fixes so everything wasn't severely broken. i'm very weary of things that seem 'too good to be true'. then again, guildwars 1 was extremely good with balance and support (from what i remember) they simplified your playable character and added dynamic event to make the story/plot that much more epic... on top of how awesome it already was in gw1 just 10 (7) days!

Well I don't count co-op as multiplayer the way I was thinking of it. You can play vs 4 friends but you can only replay the game so many times before you get bored and quit. No PvP or anything.

I thought the game had racial abilities, like the humans hellhounds summon etc. I got used to racial abilities being gamebreaking in WoW at times but do they work out somehow different here? Or are you saying the racials only work in specific parts of the game?

ANet have spoke about how they plan to remove and add dynamic events over time without announcing them. For example, a couple months after you last explored a zone, you can visit there again, be reduced to the appropriate level so you're not too powerful, find that all the old activities you used to do in that area have now disappeared and are now replaced by new content. Time will tell whether they stay true to their word or how often this happens but I personally think that is an amazing way to keep content fresh. GW1 expansions released new zones, new storylines, new classes, and new skills. The level or gear cap was never increased between expansions. ANet hasn't revealed anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if GW2 followed this same formula.

I do hope they make it more difficulty to reach special areas this time around though. In GW1 you could get to the UW from the ToA like everyone else but you could also use the shrine in Lornar's Pass (which I hope is still there as that's an area in GW2 ! :D) but no one really needed to. There was also a temple of balthazar in the jungle (The Falls I believe was the area) but there was no option to enter FoW there. Would've certainly made those 2 areas a heck of a lot more special to have to reach them to access them instead of from a town so I hope they do it differently for GW2 (and if they don't include at least one realm of the gods I will be seriously pissed; I always wanted a Realm of Lyssa in GW1 so I hope they throw that in this game! P.S : The last 2 weeks have been hell. I installed Skyrim, got bored in like 3 days because I only really want to play this game. Getting really eager.

1- Mann vs. Machine - new free DLC for the already free/amazing Team Fortress 2. 2- Watch speedruns of your favourite games, SDA or speedrunslive if racing sounds more exciting. 3- Portal 2 owners got a 75% discount ticket, ask a friend for one. Also the community made maps are amazing, give em a try. 4- Darksiders 2 just launched, just as fun as the first one. 5- Pokemon Online - free to play battle simulator, make a team with the moves/stats you want and battle online. Also try the challenge cup mode, which gives you a COMPLETLY random team. Fun stuff. 6- Kongregate, as always, best away to waste two hours when you want time to pass. 7- TSL tomorrow! =p Suggestions are welcome!
