People had any success playing this like slightly subpar graphics cards? Just curious is my Uni laptop can handle it, I can play D3 fine with no lag or any problems with my laptop. Should I be fine?
Still on the fence on whether to get this anyway (my home pc will handle it EZPZ), was a huge guildwars fan but I'm off to uni like a month after release =/. Got 78 days played on it over the 3 years i played it :D.

If you have an nVidia graphics card, they recently released a set of beta drivers that have been shown to improve fps drastically.

Please do man. You did an amazing job with your shows back in the day in GW1. I'd love to see something similar return ^___^

Got 78 days played on it over the 3 years i played it :D. I was able to play the beta on an Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics card. I also have an i5 Sandy Bridge processor and 6 gigs of RAM.
In the beta, I got great framerate on the lowest settings, and I was able to get decent framerate when bumping a few settings up a few notches like shadows and textures.

So, is it worth me getting this game? I tire of WoW and its clones, i absolutely loved GW's PvP and the only reason i played SWTOR for 3 months was that its PvP was considerably more "objective" based then WoW's (i felt, no flame war)
How is the PvE? is the new system alot more intuitive and less repetitive then WoW-likes? I hear its just randomly walking about and running into events - that sounds pretty perfect to me, or is it all very repetitive and not like this?
PvP? On par with GW1's? good for competitive play? how is the wvwvw for casual play?
Ive watched some videos and everything but i wanted some opinions on whether i would actually enjoy it, i keep buying WoW clone MMO's and unsubbing so quickly, its a waste of cash tbh.
I really want this game to be good enough to live up to its predesessors heritage, im playing through the first with my wife again atm :D

You really shouldn't ask us to predict whether GW2's pvp will be on par with GW1's pvp with only 3 weekends worth of experience behind us.
The pve is indeed as you described. Run around, find shit to do. Not as obviously repetitive as other MMO's.
Keep in mind that you'll only be buying the game once (or twice, if you're playing with your wife) and there's no subscription fee. You have no obligations to play due to any subscription fee. I think it's worth it.

Does anyone know if opitimization is in yet? I haven't played since the first beta event, just haven't had the time. Just wondering if I should make time for todays Stress Test, as I'm really curious how the game will preform.

You misunderstood, i wasnt asking a comparison of indepth, more one of style.
Does it play out like GW did, or play out like WoW does? its basically a question of organisation versus zerging on a location (or two!)
Yeah the non-subs does add something to it i suppose, and the pve does seem quite refreshing.
Ive been fixed on buying this for so long, but having second thoughts as i think of all the MMO's ive been through this last year lol

There is a seriously endless amount of videos and blogs and podcasts about Gw2, do some research.

I will be streaming during most of the stress test later today, Thursday, August 9th. It will be featuring a mix of PvP, exploring the various jumping puzzles, or maybe just trying out some different builds for the professions. Viewers can request what you want to see and I, within reason, will happily oblige. :D
If you're interested in seeing a specific profession or spec/build/weapon setup for a profession or just want to get a feel for the game and get some idea of whether it's for you or not... Join us and interact with myself and the other viewers. I will gladly answer any questions asked and give my feedback on certain aspects of the game.
Whether you want to see some knowledge bombs dropped on those that are ill-exposed, or just hang out with some other GW2 geeks, all are welcome. We hope to see you guys in the chat room or on the battlefield. Thanks for your time, guys!

I guess sPvP can be organised while WvWvW can be zerging.

But well, you see, i asked for opinions, so that i could actually ask and get opinions on my questions. I have seen the videos, i have indeed seen the PvP, but nobody has actually explained the "feel" of it to me. Im sorry?

I can't get on, getting bunch of different errors. Although I only bought the game last week so this is my first time trying, not sure if it's an issue at my end or not.

I doubt you will be unable to find some part of the game that you'll enjoy. And hey, it's FREE! You can stop playing and come back to it 3 months from now after you've tried something else out and suddenly get that MMO craving.
