Priest has better damage. Mystic is more party friendly by a mile. Priest has self heals. Mystics drop little orbs that can heal. I would advise against both of these if you're a BG type of person. If you like instances and such people usually prefer mystics because of the Auras and dropping the health/mana balls keeps aggro off of them.

What classes do you all think are better for pvp?

Archers are getting massive buffs. Probably to the point where they can outdps other classes with just their normal arrow alone. Slayers/warriors/sorcs are good.

Sorry what is BG?

Priest also has some sick buffs, whereas Mystics have some auras such as a crit aura and a mana aura. In BGs I think it's best to have some of each so you get the full range of buffs. Healers are straight fuckin' essential in PvP so don't be dissuaded from playing one if you wanna PvP. Mystics also have a lot of nifty CC, but are the absolute slowest at solo leveling.
BGs are Battlegrounds, a sort of organized team PvP format almost identical to their WoW namesake. You can read more about their TERA incarnation here: http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/battlegrounds/fraywind-canyon/

And another question: how does class progression go? Is it that I can get every single skill available to a class so long as I have enough gold to buy them? Or do I need to tailor my character toward a certain "build" and only learn the skills I think I will need?

Every class learns every skill in the game. The "tree" version of this game come in the form of glyphs that can do a multitude of different things. Such as : Reducing cooldowns, reducing resource cost, increasing potency, allowing more lock ons, etc.
Edit: You can only glyph a certain amount of things per level. Certain glyphs cost more glyph points than others.

Are glyph actions reversible?

They are. It costs money but you never actually lose the glyph.

No stealth classes if that's what you mean. The most "agile" class would be the warrior, although it's also considered a tanking class.

Well, that's kind of confusing for someone who played other MMOs. :p Thanks. I'm keen on trying the game a bit once it get f2p, the combat always sounded fun. Was just afraid they didn't have my most liked archetype.

My friend told me the client took a long time to download, so downloaded the client and left the computer, but now I have to run it, and it'll take 2 more hours

How do I disable all the enchant messages? I honestly don't care if you got "+7" or w/e. It's so annoying.
btw I am going to try to play Mystic on the bigger PvE server now. See how it goes. I don't think I will be lvl 28+ this month...

Game is pretty well-balanced...
Warriors are currently the strongest straight 1v1 class, because they have the ability to negate damage, have a lot of invincibility frames, and can chain a lot of stuns together, and a bunch of their stuns have RNG chance to instantly recharge. They don't have team/party utility in pvp though, as their stuns tend to require being targeted (ie. counterattack into stun), so you end up being reliant on idiots in a team skirmish. Still legit.
Archer buff is a great mystery, as it's no secret they're highly effective in PvP, it's just that no one wants to play them because 1) their PvE is nightmarish and 2) you're just turning the game into an FPS. Their main comparison is to sorcs, which have stronger DPS (not as crucial in pvp obviously) - I think archers are far more deadly in PvP because they have superior range (this is big), don't have obvious casting animations, and have faster chain attacks. Sorcs obviously have more territory control though.
Zerkers and Slayers are a bit similar in different niche, in that they both output metric fucktons of damage but suffer in varying degrees with general utility, type of combat (ie. Zerkers are slow but squishy, slayers are fast but don't have many emergency GTFOs, think assassins from GW1).
Priests are stronger at healing but mystics are a bit jack-of-all-trades, as the latter boasts probably the most straight CC in the game and have more mobility (they drop balls that heal that allies pick up, so you don't have to stutterstep while casting, you can just drop and then run while CCing). The latter also has a crit aura that's beloved in PvE, but I don't think it's as important in PvP because of how spread out people end up being (aura range isn't very big, and if you bunch up archers/sorcs have a field day).
Lancers have an awkward spot in which they have by far the strongest CC (multi-target leash) that can be gamebreaking... but they lack damage, their tankiness isn't quite as effective in PvP for many reasons (ie. people can break blocks/get behind you/stun you/just do too much damage), and their CC can be a bit hit or miss due to range. They're still very strong because of that multi-leash though, it's just that in PvP the rest of their kit sort of isn't as strong to compensate balance-wise. It's fantastic if you can combo with like a sorc or something though, because the multi-target leash stacks all the enemies within a certain range in the SAME SPOT (provided you land the leash), so...
That said, people say that in KTera the top 3v3 teams (upcoming arena) generally involve Lancer + Mystic + either Archer or Warrior. If you play Battlegrounds though it doesn't matter as much, because the larger number of people makes each class have a role.

If you mean the one that goes across the screen, not sure, but if you mean bottom left, it's one of the globals when you click the Gear icon to configure the chat.

No it's at the center top of the screen.
Player A has enchanted Item B with +7 blah blah blah!
And it plays a cheerful tune.
So annoying
The chat stuff I already figured out. The global chat is so annoying
