Depends on who you're talking to. I hear some people call him DMC, Run DMC, DMac, etc.. It's like AP, ADP, or AD.

In the spirit of fantasy football, not sure who to start as my TE.
I have Heap who has a shitty QB on a team loaded with options and Daniels who still has problems with his knee. But Daniels is against the Cowboys so I'm looking at picking someone up. Either Moeaki since he's Cassels #1 receiver or Lewis. ;\ Or just stick with Daniels and hope it works out :|

Any better options in FA? Like John Carlson.

Why in god's name would you drop stewart?? He's gone in the first three rounds in virtually every league and he's always started out slow.
DK, I'd recommend dropping your whole roster and forfeiting.

Wtf happened there?
And yo, I'm ready to drop JStew for nothing. 1 point, 4 points... no QB/passing game to open holes, constant turnovers and a shit defense putting them behind game after game. This is gonna be a long year for them. John Fox is done in NC.
So I was trying to acquire Jason Snelling, Josh Freeman, Demaryus Thomas, and Alex Smith this week. Ended up landing Thomas and Smith. I'm hoping Alex can pull his head out of his ass like he did in the 4th Q of MNF all season. That would be ideal. Freeman was my most hopeful selection though.
In any case, I'm really hoping Thomas has a monster week, and that Dez Bryant does as well. IF they do, I'm going to try and move two WR's (because I'm fucking stacked, Wayne, Megatron, Dez, and Thomas if they both do well) for a tier 2ish HB, or a tier2 QB, because my QB position is fucking owning my team right now. It's so sporadic... I can't trust Vick for long, and I don't trust Favor at all this year. Maybe Smith will show some promise. I think I'd be better off trying to bolster my HB's if Donald Brown doesn't continue with 13 ppgish performances every week.
|
|
|
The problem is that I'm playing him at HB2, not Flex or something. I NEED production from that spot, especially when I can't count on QB, and I don't have a dominant HB1 (SJax is my HB1 this year : [ )
Man, I think I'm about to get crushed this week.
My opponent: My Team: Flacco Favre/Vick DMac SJax CJ2k D. Brown/JStew Roddy White Wayne Crabtree Megatron/Dez/D. Thomas (most likely Megatron) Cooley Winslow Prater Janikowski Philly D Miami D
Special note: Making this post look clean took way more work than it was worth.
|
Well if you need the production because you drafted him that high, it would make even more sense to hold onto him or flip him instead of dropping
Honestly, he'll rebound. Maybe not #2 RB stats, but I can see 8-900 and 9 TDs. I'd look to flip Vick while morons will still bite while it's hot.

What do you think of Dez + Vick for like... Eli? Eli isn't exactly a top fantasy QB, per se, but better than what I have. Maybe shoot as high as Romo? This one guy has both of them, although I think he'd like to keep Romo if he were to get Dez. His WR's are shit right now, too. Chad, Henderson, Smith (NYG).
I'm starting to really get it in my head that Thomas's game was not a fluke, and that he'll be their definite #1 WR in Denver this season, which makes parting ways with Dez a bit easier for me, for a variety of reasons. I'm still leery on Megatron's year. Idk how much more I can take of this "I can't believe he hasn't gotten any points, oh thank God he scored a late TD" bullshit from him.
Maybe JStew will finally have a good game, have it at the same time as Brown, and I can move 2 for 1 at HB.
ROFL. I'm 100% not rejoining this league next year. I should offer up draft picks too. hahahahaha

Lateral move at best. Eli will score better than Vick if they both play full seasons in standard, but not by a ton. If your pass scoring is tweaked to reward for yardage, you're he's definitely better.
However, Eli and Favre certainly fall in the same tier—I'd rather roll the dice that my QB would not get injured than have two QBs in the same skill bracket and skimp on a starter's spot elsewhere. Yardage will be about the same, only edge might be that Eli might have a bit better TD;INT numbers, and his team will likely be playing from behind more. I thought the Giants would come back to the run this year, but with the Jacobs bit, their depth at WR and the shaky line, I don't know.
Flip for a RB if anything. Vick can certainly land you #2RB/Flex guy, if not heads up than definitely with Dez or someone else marginal packaged in. I'd sell the shit outta Vick now if I had him.
I also don't care for the Bronco passing attack at all. First Gaffney was a #1. Then it was Lloyd. Now it's back to the kid. And none of those QBs perk my interest at all.

Yeah, I definitely feel where you're coming from, but QB is very heavily weighted in our league.
1 pt/ 25yds. 6pt/TD. -2/Turnover.
So having a better QB is better than having a #2 HB. But I see where you're coming from. People in this league are really reluctant to trade though...
I mean MAYBE I can move Vick for McFadden, but I don't trust McFadden over JStew/Donald Brown at all. Maybe I could move Vick for LT, or package with a WR for Gore. That'd be fucking sick, and I'm going to try that right now actually.
So I proposed a move of Vick/JStew/Dez for Gore.

just change the name of this thread to the fantasy football thread... no one is discussing football, just their fantasy teams.

Try reading the thread, 3 posts. There has been a shitton of football discussion around game days, and for a few days after. During the week, not much happens, so fantasy gets discussed... because you don't just play fantasy, you live it.

Urgh...I've been having such a shitty week. I can't wait for Sunday to come around so I can just kick back and watch some football with me dad~
Super excited this week because it's Bears vs Packers. Woot woot!

Packers fan? Was that you who I corrected in their quote?

I've been the lowest scorer in my league. My guys just aren't showing up to play. It's been frustrating. What do you all think?
Past starters: QB: Romo RB: Jones-Drew RB: Turner Flex: McFadden WR: Colston WR: Driver TE: Celek DEF: Eagles K: Longwell
Others: RB: DeAngelo Williams WR: Floyd, Sims-Walker TE: Just picked up John Carlson K: Matt Prater DEF: New Orleans

The fantasy talk directly revolves around the players and how they're playing. Even if you're not in a league you can still contribute to the conversation about a particular player.
|
I just don't get how people draft teams like that in non-keeper or dynasty leagues.
You're clearly weak at WR, but your HB's will turn it around. Drop one of your kickers for a better player at a skill position, that's just pointless to carry two kickers.
I'd try to trade someone like McFadden for a good WR. He's hot right now, but his flames will almost certainly distinguish by next week (because, let's be honest, he sucks).

An excellent point.
I think that, for non fantasy players, it's a bit intimidating to talk to fantasy nuts though. But I think that most of the time, fantasy players typically have a better understanding of the game and its players.. because they have to in order to succeed, so if nothing else, there's stuff to be learned about players, matchups, defensive schemes, etc, by reading fantasy discussions (defensive schemes, because certain players won't match well against schemes ofc).

Well yeah, QB is def worth more. I just think Favre will = Eli and both >>>> Vick. I think Eli is close to his 09 stats than his 08, which is right in Favre's neighborhood. He's gotten better each year and they pass more now.
That's a fairly enticing deal for Gore, depending on what the rest of his roster looks like. And you hate Gore! I feel you on trades though. People are either super reluctant or fucking idiots. My inbox yesterday:
I get Slaton and VD for Mendenhall and Witten. I just proceded to reply with nothing but obscenities and send him multiple offers for Anthony Gonzales for his best guys. Fuckers.
I disagree with Lemon on above. That's a team that just hasn't hit stride yet. I'd wait other week before you panic and start trading shit. I don't think Run DMC is gonna light the world on fire, but I don't think he sucks. That team is slowly getting better. The bigger threat there is Bush, not DMC's lack of skills. I also don't think he gets you a very good WR, and I'd rather have a back getting more carries than a 2 or 3 WR.
|
Very sound advice. I was actually going to trade McFadden after this week. Who do you think would be a solid WR trade?
We've only got 10 in our league, if that says anything.
Sweet, can you post your (or one of your team's) lineups? It'd be cool to see how you're running it.
